  12. A Call to Persevere in Faith

    Therefore, brothers and sisters, since we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus,
  13. and since we have a great priest over the house of God,
  14. let us draw near to God with a sincere heart and with the full assurance that faith brings, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water.
  15. If we deliberately keep on sinning after we have received the knowledge of the truth, no sacrifice for sins is left,
  16. He chose to be mistreated along with the people of God rather than to enjoy the fleeting pleasures of sin.
  17. since God had planned something better for us so that only together with us would they be made perfect.
  18. Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us,
  19. Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.
  20. God Disciplines His Children

    In your struggle against sin, you have not yet resisted to the point of shedding your blood.
  21. See that no one is sexually immoral, or is godless like Esau, who for a single meal sold his inheritance rights as the oldest son.
  22. Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe,
  23. The high priest carries the blood of animals into the Most Holy Place as a sin offering, but the bodies are burned outside the camp.
