  1. Even the land was defiled; so I punished it for its sin, and the land vomited out its inhabitants.

  3. Punishments for Sin

    The Lord said to Moses,

  16. For the land will be deserted by them and will enjoy its sabbaths while it lies desolate without them. They will pay for their sins because they rejected my laws and abhorred my decrees.
  17. These are the decrees, the laws and the regulations that the Lord established at Mount Sinai between himself and the Israelites through Moses.
  18. “‘No one, however, may dedicate the firstborn of an animal, since the firstborn already belongs to the Lord; whether an ox or a sheep, it is the Lord’s.
  19. These are the commands the Lord gave Moses at Mount Sinai for the Israelites.
  20. The Census

    The Lord spoke to Moses in the tent of meeting in the Desert of Sinai on the first day of the second month of the second year after the Israelites came out of Egypt. He said:

  22. The Levites

    This is the account of the family of Aaron and Moses at the time the Lord spoke to Moses at Mount Sinai.
  23. Nadab and Abihu, however, died before the Lord when they made an offering with unauthorized fire before him in the Desert of Sinai. They had no sons, so Eleazar and Ithamar served as priests during the lifetime of their father Aaron.
  24. The Lord said to Moses in the Desert of Sinai,
  25. and must confess the sin they have committed. They must make full restitution for the wrong they have done, add a fifth of the value to it and give it all to the person they have wronged.
