  17. then her first husband, who divorced her, is not allowed to marry her again after she has been defiled. That would be detestable in the eyes of the Lord. Do not bring sin upon the land the Lord your God is giving you as an inheritance.
  18. Pay them their wages each day before sunset, because they are poor and are counting on it. Otherwise they may cry to the Lord against you, and you will be guilty of sin.
  19. Parents are not to be put to death for their children, nor children put to death for their parents; each will die for their own sin.
  20. The foreigners who reside among you will rise above you higher and higher, but you will sink lower and lower.
  21. The Lord will single them out from all the tribes of Israel for disaster, according to all the curses of the covenant written in this Book of the Law.
