18 Nan menm peryòd la, disip Jezi yo pwoche bò kote l, yo mande l: “Kilès ki pi gran nan wayòm Bondye a?”
2 Jezi rele yon timoun, li mete l kanpe devan yo 3 epi l di yo: “Anverite m ap di nou, si nou pa chanje jan nou panse, epi vin tounen tankou timoun, nou p ap janm antre nan wayòm Bondye a. 4 Moun Bondye onore plis nan wayòm li a, se moun ki desann tèt li pou l vin tankou timoun sa a.
5 Nenpòt moun ki resevwa yon timoun tankou timoun sa a nan non mwen, se mwen menm li resevwa.
Mizangad sou koz ki fè moun peche

6 Men nenpòt moun ki lakoz youn nan timoun sa yo ki kwè nan mwen tonbe nan peche, li t ap pi bon pou li pou yo ta mare yon mèl moulen nan kou l epi lage l nan fon lanmè. 7 Kè m fè m mal pou lèzòm, poutèt kantite bagay ki devan yo pou fè yo peche. Se vre, ap toujou genyen bagay pou lakoz moun tonbe nan peche, men malè pou moun ki lakoz yon lòt moun tonbe nan peche.
8 Konsa, si se men w oswa pye w k ap lakoz ou tonbe, pito w koupe yo voye jete. Li pi bon pou gen lavi ki p ap janm fini an ak yon men oswa yon pye pase pou w ta genyen de men w ak de pye w epi pou w al boule nan dife lanfè etènèl la. 9 Si se je w k ap lakoz ou tonbe nan peche, rache l voye l jete. Li ta pi bon pou gen lavi etènèl ak yon sèl zye, pase pou ou ta gen de je w epi pou w al boule nan dife lanfè etènèl la.

12 Si yon nonm gen 100 mouton epi gen youn ladan yo ki pèdi, nou pa panse l ap kite 99 lòt yo nan raje a pou l al chache sa ki pèdi a? 13 An verite m ap di nou, lè l jwenn sa k te pèdi a, l ap gen plis kè kontan pou mouton sa a pase 99 lòt ki pa t pèdi yo. 14 Se menm jan an tou Papa nou ki nan syèl la pa vle youn nan timoun sa yo pèdi.

15 Si yon frè fè w[b] yon bagay ki pa bon, jwenn ade avè l pou montre l sa l fè ki mal la. Si l koute w, relasyon w avèk frè w la retabli. 16 Men si l refize koute w, chache youn ou de lòt frè met avè w, paske tout akizasyon ki gen valè bezwen gen de ou twa temwen ki konfime l.[c] 17 Si l refize koute toujou, lage bagay la nan men legliz. Si l refize koute toujou, konsidere l menm jan w ta konsidere yon moun ki pa konn Bondye ditou oswa yon pèseptè kontribisyon.
18 Anverite m ap di nou, Bondye nan syèl la ap bay apwobasyon li lè w refize oswa pèmèt yon bagay fèt sou latè.[d] 19 M ap di nou sa ankò, si de nan nou sou latè met tèt nou ansanm pou nou priye pou yon bagay, Papa m ki nan syèl la ap ban nou l. 20 Wi, m ap di nou sa, lè dezoutwa moun ki kwè nan mwen yo reyini ansanm, mwen la nan mitan yo.”
Aprann padone lòt moun
21 Apre sa, Pyè pwoche bò kote Jezi pou l ka poze l yon kesyon: “Senyè, konbyen fwa pou m padone frè m nan si l kontinye ap fè m bagay ki mal? Èske sèt fwa pa ase?”
22 Jezi reponn li: “Non Pyè! Mwen pa di sèt fwa. Ou bezwen kontinye padone li swasanndis fwa miltipliye pa sèt.[e]
23 Se sak fè m ap di nou wayòm Bondye a se tankou yon wa ki deside pou l rantre tout kòb li te gen deyò. 24 Nan fouye kaye li, li jwenn yon nonm ki te dwe l yon gwo gwo sòm lajan.[f] 25 Kòm sèvitè a pa t ka jwenn kòb la pou l peye, mèt la pase lòd pou yo vann sèvitè a, madanm li, pitit li ak tout sa l te posede, pou li ta rantre yon pati nan lajan l lan.
26 Lè sa a, sèvitè a lage kò l ajenou devan mèt la, epi li di: Tanpri, pran pasyans avè m, m ap peye dèt la. 27 Kè mèt la fè l mal pou sèvitè a. Li deside anile dèt la, epi l kite msye ale.
28 Menm sèvitè sa a, lè l rive deyò a, li jwenn yon kamarad ki te dwe l yon ti kraze monnen. Li mete men anba kou l, epi li di l: Peye m lajan m!
29 Kanmarad la lage kò l ajenou epi l di lòt la: Tanpri, pran pasyans avè m, m ap peye dèt la.
30 Men lòt refize tande. Okontrè li fè fèmen kanmarad la nan prizon jouktan l fin peye tout dèt la. 31 Gen lòt sèvitè mèt la ki t ap swiv tout bagay, kè yo te fè yo mal pou kanmarad ki ale nan prizon an. Konsa yo rapòte tout bagay bay mèt la.
32 Lè mèt la tande sa, li rele sèvitè l la epi l di: Gade jan ou mechan! Èske m pa t anile tout dèt ou a, paske ou te sipliye m? 33 Èske ou pa ta dwe fè menm bagay la pou kanmarad ou a tou? 34 Konsa, mèt la te fache anpil. Li pran sèvitè a, li fèmen l nan prizon. Epi li di: fòk misye peye dènye sengkòb la, anvan l sòti nan prizon.
35 Enben Papa m ki nan syèl la ap fè nou menm jan ak wa sa si nou pa padone frè ak sè nou ak tout kè nou.”

Matthew 18
New International Version
The Greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven(A)
18 At that time the disciples came to Jesus and asked, “Who, then, is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?”
2 He called a little child to him, and placed the child among them. 3 And he said: “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children,(B) you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.(C) 4 Therefore, whoever takes the lowly position of this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.(D) 5 And whoever welcomes one such child in my name welcomes me.(E)
Causing to Stumble
6 “If anyone causes one of these little ones—those who believe in me—to stumble, it would be better for them to have a large millstone hung around their neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea.(F) 7 Woe to the world because of the things that cause people to stumble! Such things must come, but woe to the person through whom they come!(G) 8 If your hand or your foot causes you to stumble,(H) cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to enter life maimed or crippled than to have two hands or two feet and be thrown into eternal fire. 9 And if your eye causes you to stumble,(I) gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to enter life with one eye than to have two eyes and be thrown into the fire of hell.(J)
The Parable of the Wandering Sheep(K)
10 “See that you do not despise one of these little ones. For I tell you that their angels(L) in heaven always see the face of my Father in heaven. [11] [a]
12 “What do you think? If a man owns a hundred sheep, and one of them wanders away, will he not leave the ninety-nine on the hills and go to look for the one that wandered off? 13 And if he finds it, truly I tell you, he is happier about that one sheep than about the ninety-nine that did not wander off. 14 In the same way your Father in heaven is not willing that any of these little ones should perish.
Dealing With Sin in the Church
15 “If your brother or sister[b] sins,[c] go and point out their fault,(M) just between the two of you. If they listen to you, you have won them over. 16 But if they will not listen, take one or two others along, so that ‘every matter may be established by the testimony of two or three witnesses.’[d](N) 17 If they still refuse to listen, tell it to the church;(O) and if they refuse to listen even to the church, treat them as you would a pagan or a tax collector.(P)
18 “Truly I tell you, whatever you bind on earth will be[e] bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be[f] loosed in heaven.(Q)
19 “Again, truly I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything they ask for, it will be done for them(R) by my Father in heaven. 20 For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.”(S)
The Parable of the Unmerciful Servant
21 Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, “Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother or sister who sins against me?(T) Up to seven times?”(U)
22 Jesus answered, “I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times.[g](V)
23 “Therefore, the kingdom of heaven is like(W) a king who wanted to settle accounts(X) with his servants. 24 As he began the settlement, a man who owed him ten thousand bags of gold[h] was brought to him. 25 Since he was not able to pay,(Y) the master ordered that he and his wife and his children and all that he had be sold(Z) to repay the debt.
26 “At this the servant fell on his knees before him.(AA) ‘Be patient with me,’ he begged, ‘and I will pay back everything.’ 27 The servant’s master took pity on him, canceled the debt and let him go.
28 “But when that servant went out, he found one of his fellow servants who owed him a hundred silver coins.[i] He grabbed him and began to choke him. ‘Pay back what you owe me!’ he demanded.
29 “His fellow servant fell to his knees and begged him, ‘Be patient with me, and I will pay it back.’
30 “But he refused. Instead, he went off and had the man thrown into prison until he could pay the debt. 31 When the other servants saw what had happened, they were outraged and went and told their master everything that had happened.
32 “Then the master called the servant in. ‘You wicked servant,’ he said, ‘I canceled all that debt of yours because you begged me to. 33 Shouldn’t you have had mercy on your fellow servant just as I had on you?’ 34 In anger his master handed him over to the jailers to be tortured, until he should pay back all he owed.
35 “This is how my heavenly Father will treat each of you unless you forgive your brother or sister from your heart.”(AB)
