Judah Profaned Yahweh’s Sanctuary

10 “Do we not all have (A)one father? (B)Has not one God created us? Why do we deal (C)treacherously each against his brother so as to profane the (D)covenant of our fathers? 11 Judah has dealt (E)treacherously, and an abomination has been done in Israel and in Jerusalem; for Judah has (F)profaned the sanctuary of Yahweh [a]which He loves and has married the daughter of a foreign god. 12 As for the man who does this, may (G)Yahweh cut off from the tents of Jacob everyone who awakes and answers or who (H)presents [b]an offering to Yahweh of hosts.

The Covenant Is Broken by Divorce

10 Don’t we all have one Father? Hasn’t one God created us? Why then do we violate our vows to each other, polluting the covenant of our fathers? 11 Judah has acted unfaithfully. A detestable thing was done in Israel and in Jerusalem when Judah polluted the holy place[a] of the Lord, which the Lord loves. Judah is married to the daughter of a foreign god. 12 May the Lord cut off from the tents of Jacob any man who does this, both the one who is awake and the one who answers,[b] even if he brings an offering to the Lord of Armies!
