²⁴ “Truly, truly, I say to you, he who hears My word, and ^(A)believes Him who sent Me, has eternal life, and ^(B)does not come into judgment, but has ^(C)passed out of death into life.

⁴³ Of Him ^(A)all the prophets bear witness that through ^(B)His name everyone who believes in Him receives forgiveness of sins.”

^17 (A)rescuing you ^(B)from the Jewish people and from the Gentiles, to whom I am sending you, ¹⁸ to ^(C)open their eyes so that they may turn from ^(D)darkness to light and from the dominion of ^(E)Satan to God, that they may receive ^(F)forgiveness of sins and an ^(G)inheritance among those who have been sanctified by ^(H)faith in Me.’

¹⁶ For I am not ^(A)ashamed of the gospel, for ^(B)it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the ^(C)Jew first and also to ^(D)the Greek. ¹⁷ For in it ^(E)the righteousness of God is revealed ^[a]from faith to faith; as it is written, “^[b](F)But the righteous man shall live by faith.”

²⁶ for the demonstration, I say, of His righteousness at the present time, so that He would be just and the justifier of the one who ^[a]has faith in Jesus.

¹³ For ^(A)the promise to Abraham or to his ^[a]descendants ^(B)that he would be heir of the world was not ^[b]through the Law, but through the righteousness of faith. ¹⁴ For ^(C)if those who are ^[c]of the Law are heirs, faith is made void and the promise is nullified;

²² Therefore ^(A)it was also credited to him as righteousness. ²³ Now ^(B)not for his sake only was it written that it was credited to him, ²⁴ but for our sake also, to whom it will be credited, as those ^(C)who believe in Him who ^(D)raised Jesus our Lord from the dead,

³ Or do you not know that all of us who have been ^(A)baptized into ^(B)Christ Jesus have been baptized into His death? ⁴ Therefore we have been ^(C)buried with Him through baptism into death, so that as Christ was ^(D)raised from the dead through the ^(E)glory of the Father, so we too might walk in ^(F)newness of life.

¹⁷ But ^(A)thanks be to God that ^[a]though you were slaves of sin, you became obedient from the heart to that ^(B)form of teaching to which you were committed, ¹⁸ and having been ^(C)freed from sin, you became slaves of righteousness. ^19 (D)I am speaking in human terms because of the weakness of your flesh. For just ^(E)as you presented your members as slaves to impurity and to lawlessness, ^[b]resulting in further lawlessness, so now present your members as slaves to righteousness, ^[c]resulting in sanctification.

²⁰ For ^(F)when you were slaves of sin, you were free in regard to righteousness. ²¹ Therefore what ^[d](G)benefit were you then ^[e]deriving ^[f]from the things of which you are now ashamed? For the outcome of those things is ^(H)death. ²² But now having been ^(I)freed from sin and ^(J)enslaved to God, you ^[g]derive your ^[h](K)benefit, ^[i]resulting in sanctification, and ^(L)the outcome, eternal life.
