Elisha Promises Food

7 But Elisha said, “Hear the word of the Lord: thus says the Lord, ^(A)Tomorrow about this time a seah^[a] of fine flour shall be sold for a shekel,^[b] and two seahs of barley for a shekel, at the gate of Samaria.”

⁵ Then Joshua said to the people, ^(A)“Consecrate yourselves, for tomorrow the Lord will do wonders among you.”

¹² “I ^(A)have heard the grumbling of the people of Israel. Say to them, ‘At ^(B)twilight you shall eat meat, and ^(C)in the morning you shall be filled with bread. Then you shall know that I am the Lord your God.’”

⁴ Then he said to me, ^(A)“Prophesy over these bones, and say to them, ^(B)O dry bones, hear the word of the Lord.

⁹ And they said to the messengers who had come, “Thus shall you say to the men of Jabesh-gilead: ‘Tomorrow, by the time the sun is hot, you shall have ^(A)salvation.’” When the messengers came and told the men of Jabesh, they were glad.

¹³ And Moses said to the people, ^(A)“Fear not, stand firm, and see the salvation of the Lord, which he will work for you today. For ^(B)the Egyptians whom you see today, you shall never see again.

⁵ And the Lord set a time, saying, “Tomorrow the Lord will do this thing in the land.” ⁶ And the next day the Lord did this thing. ^(A)All the livestock of the Egyptians died, but not one of the livestock of the people of Israel died.

²³ Thus I will put a division^[a] between my people and your people. Tomorrow this sign shall happen.”’”

⁴² A man came from ^(A)Baal-shalishah, ^(B)bringing the man of God bread of the firstfruits, twenty loaves of barley and fresh ears of grain in his sack. And Elisha said, ^(C)“Give to the men, that they may eat.”
