3 Горко на града нечист и омърсен, който притеснява!
2 Не слуша гласа, не взима от наставления, на Господа не се уповава, към своя Бог не се приближава.
3 (A)Князете му посред него са рикащи лъвове, съдиите му – вечерни вълци, които не оставят до сутринта нито една кост.
4 (B)Пророците му са човеци лекомислени, вероломни; свещениците му оскверняват светинята, тъпчат закона.
5 (C)Господ е праведен посред него, не върши неправда, всяка сутрин явява Своя съд неизменно; но беззаконникът не знае срам.
6 Аз изтребих народи – разрушени са твърдините им; пусти направих улиците им, тъй че никой не ходи по тях; разорени са градовете им: няма нито един човек, няма жители.
7 (D)Аз казах: „бой се само от Мене, приемай наставления!“ и няма да бъде изтребено жилището му, и няма да го постигне злото, каквото му бях определил; а те прилежно се стараеха да покварват всичките си действия.
8 (E)И тъй, чакайте Ме, казва Господ, до оня ден, когато ще се дигна за опустошение; защото е определено от Мене да събера народи, да свикам царства, за да излея върху тях Моето негодувание, всичката ярост на Моя гняв; защото от огъня на яростта Ми ще бъде погълната цялата земя.
9 (F)Тогава Аз пак ще дам на народите чисти уста, та всички да призовават името на Господа и да Му служат единодушно.
10 (G)От страните отвъд реката на Етиопия поклонниците Ми – децата на Моите разпилени – ще Ми принесат дарове.
11 (H)В оня ден ти няма да се срамиш от своите различни постъпки, с каквито грешеше против Мене, защото тогава Аз ще отстраня из средата ти ония, които напразно се хвалеха със своята знатност, и няма вече да се превъзнасяш на светата Ми планина.
12 (I)Но ще оставя всред тебе народ смирен и прост, и те ще се уповават на името Господне.
13 (J)Остатъците от Израиля няма да вършат неправда, няма да говорят лъжа, и няма да се намери в устата им коварен език, защото сами ще се пасат и ще лежат, и никой няма да ги разтревожи.
14 (K)Ликувай, дъще Сионова! тържествувай, Израилю! весели се и радвай се от все сърце, дъще Иерусалимова!
15 (L)Господ отмени присъдата над тебе, изгони врага ти! Господ, Цар Израилев, е посред тебе: повече няма да видиш зло.
16 (M)В оня ден ще кажат на Иерусалим: „не бой се“, и на Сион: „да не отслабват ръцете ти!
17 (N)Господ, Бог твой, е посред тебе: Той е силен да те спаси; ще се развесели за тебе с радост, ще бъде милостив по любовта Си, ще тържествува за тебе с песни“.
18 Тъгуващите за тържествени празненства Аз ще събера; твои са те, върху тях тежи укор.
19 (O)Ето, Аз ще стесня всички твои притеснители в онова време и ще спася онова, що хроми, ще събера разсеяното и ще ги туря на почит и именитост по цяла тая земя на техния укор.
20 (P)В онова време ще ви доведа и тогава пак ще ви събера; защото ще ви направя именити и почетни между всички земни народи, когато ще върна вашия плен пред очите ви, казва Господ.

Jerusalem
3 Woe to the city of oppressors,(A)
rebellious(B) and defiled!(C)
2 She obeys(D) no one,
she accepts no correction.(E)
She does not trust(F) in the Lord,
she does not draw near(G) to her God.
3 Her officials within her
are roaring lions;(H)
her rulers are evening wolves,(I)
who leave nothing for the morning.(J)
4 Her prophets are unprincipled;
they are treacherous people.(K)
Her priests profane the sanctuary
and do violence to the law.(L)
5 The Lord within her is righteous;(M)
he does no wrong.(N)
Morning by morning(O) he dispenses his justice,
and every new day he does not fail,(P)
yet the unrighteous know no shame.(Q)
Jerusalem Remains Unrepentant
6 “I have destroyed nations;
their strongholds are demolished.
I have left their streets deserted,
with no one passing through.
Their cities are laid waste;(R)
they are deserted and empty.
7 Of Jerusalem I thought,
‘Surely you will fear me
and accept correction!’(S)
Then her place of refuge[a] would not be destroyed,
nor all my punishments come upon[b] her.
But they were still eager
to act corruptly(T) in all they did.
8 Therefore wait(U) for me,”
declares the Lord,
“for the day I will stand up to testify.[c]
I have decided to assemble(V) the nations,(W)
to gather the kingdoms
and to pour out my wrath(X) on them—
all my fierce anger.(Y)
The whole world will be consumed(Z)
by the fire of my jealous anger.
Restoration of Israel’s Remnant
9 “Then I will purify the lips of the peoples,
that all of them may call(AA) on the name of the Lord(AB)
and serve(AC) him shoulder to shoulder.
10 From beyond the rivers of Cush[d](AD)
my worshipers, my scattered people,
will bring me offerings.(AE)
11 On that day you, Jerusalem, will not be put to shame(AF)
for all the wrongs you have done to me,(AG)
because I will remove from you
your arrogant boasters.(AH)
Never again will you be haughty
on my holy hill.(AI)
12 But I will leave within you
the meek(AJ) and humble.
The remnant of Israel
will trust(AK) in the name of the Lord.
13 They(AL) will do no wrong;(AM)
they will tell no lies.(AN)
A deceitful tongue
will not be found in their mouths.(AO)
They will eat and lie down(AP)
and no one will make them afraid.(AQ)”
14 Sing, Daughter Zion;(AR)
shout aloud,(AS) Israel!
Be glad and rejoice(AT) with all your heart,
Daughter Jerusalem!
15 The Lord has taken away your punishment,
he has turned back your enemy.
The Lord, the King of Israel, is with you;(AU)
never again will you fear(AV) any harm.(AW)
16 On that day
they will say to Jerusalem,
“Do not fear, Zion;
do not let your hands hang limp.(AX)
17 The Lord your God is with you,
the Mighty Warrior who saves.(AY)
He will take great delight(AZ) in you;
in his love he will no longer rebuke you,(BA)
but will rejoice over you with singing.”(BB)
18 “I will remove from you
all who mourn over the loss of your appointed festivals,
which is a burden and reproach for you.
19 At that time I will deal
with all who oppressed(BC) you.
I will rescue the lame;
I will gather the exiles.(BD)
I will give them praise(BE) and honor
in every land where they have suffered shame.
20 At that time I will gather you;
at that time I will bring(BF) you home.
I will give you honor(BG) and praise(BH)
among all the peoples of the earth
when I restore your fortunes[e](BI)
before your very eyes,”
says the Lord.

3 Woe to her that is filthy and polluted, to the oppressing city!
2 She obeyed not the voice; she received not correction; she trusted not in the Lord; she drew not near to her God.
3 Her princes within her are roaring lions; her judges are evening wolves; they gnaw not the bones till the morrow.
4 Her prophets are light and treacherous persons: her priests have polluted the sanctuary, they have done violence to the law.
5 The just Lord is in the midst thereof; he will not do iniquity: every morning doth he bring his judgment to light, he faileth not; but the unjust knoweth no shame.
6 I have cut off the nations: their towers are desolate; I made their streets waste, that none passeth by: their cities are destroyed, so that there is no man, that there is none inhabitant.
7 I said, Surely thou wilt fear me, thou wilt receive instruction; so their dwelling should not be cut off, howsoever I punished them: but they rose early, and corrupted all their doings.
8 Therefore wait ye upon me, saith the Lord, until the day that I rise up to the prey: for my determination is to gather the nations, that I may assemble the kingdoms, to pour upon them mine indignation, even all my fierce anger: for all the earth shall be devoured with the fire of my jealousy.
9 For then will I turn to the people a pure language, that they may all call upon the name of the Lord, to serve him with one consent.
10 From beyond the rivers of Ethiopia my suppliants, even the daughter of my dispersed, shall bring mine offering.
11 In that day shalt thou not be ashamed for all thy doings, wherein thou hast transgressed against me: for then I will take away out of the midst of thee them that rejoice in thy pride, and thou shalt no more be haughty because of my holy mountain.
12 I will also leave in the midst of thee an afflicted and poor people, and they shall trust in the name of the Lord.
13 The remnant of Israel shall not do iniquity, nor speak lies; neither shall a deceitful tongue be found in their mouth: for they shall feed and lie down, and none shall make them afraid.
14 Sing, O daughter of Zion; shout, O Israel; be glad and rejoice with all the heart, O daughter of Jerusalem.
15 The Lord hath taken away thy judgments, he hath cast out thine enemy: the king of Israel, even the Lord, is in the midst of thee: thou shalt not see evil any more.
16 In that day it shall be said to Jerusalem, Fear thou not: and to Zion, Let not thine hands be slack.
17 The Lord thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; he will save, he will rejoice over thee with joy; he will rest in his love, he will joy over thee with singing.
18 I will gather them that are sorrowful for the solemn assembly, who are of thee, to whom the reproach of it was a burden.
19 Behold, at that time I will undo all that afflict thee: and I will save her that halteth, and gather her that was driven out; and I will get them praise and fame in every land where they have been put to shame.
20 At that time will I bring you again, even in the time that I gather you: for I will make you a name and a praise among all people of the earth, when I turn back your captivity before your eyes, saith the Lord.

2 Hon hör icke på någons röst, hon tager ej emot tuktan; på HERREN förtröstar hon icke, till sin Gud vill hon ej komma.
3 Furstarna därinne äro rytande lejon; hennes domare äro såsom vargar om aftonen, de spara intet till morgondagen.
4 Hennes profeter äro stortaliga trolösa män; hennes präster ohelga vad heligt är, de våldföra lagen.
5 HERREN är rättfärdig därinne, han gör intet orätt. var morgon låter han sin rätt gå fram i ljuset, den utebliver aldrig; men de orättfärdiga veta icke av någon skam.
6 Jag utrotade folkslag, deras murtorn blevo förstörda, deras gator gjorde jag öde, så att ingen mer gick där fram; deras städer blevo förhärjade, så att de lågo tomma på människor, blottade på invånare.
7 Jag tillsade henne att allenast frukta mig och taga emot tuktan; då skulle hennes boning undgå förstörelse, med allt vad jag hade givit i hennes vård. Men i stället ävlades de att göra allt vad fördärvligt var.
8 Därför man I vänta på mig, säger HERREN, och på den dag jag står upp för att taga byte. Ty mitt domslut är: jag skall församla folk och hämta tillhopa konungariken, för att utgjuta över dem min ogunst, all min vredes glöd; ty av min nitälskans eld skall hela jorden förtäras.
9 Se, då skall jag giva åt folken nya, renade läppar, så att de allasammans åkalla HERRENS namn och endräktigt tjäna honom.
10 Ända ifrån länderna bortom Etiopiens strömmar skola mina tillbedjare, mitt förskingrade folk, frambära offer åt mig.
11 På den tiden skall du slippa att längre blygas för alla de överträdelser som du har begått mot mig. Ty då skall jag avskilja från dig dem som nu jubla så segerstolt i dig; och du skall då icke vidare förhäva dig på mitt heliga berg.
12 Men jag skall lämna kvar i dig ett folk, betryckt och armt; och de skola förtrösta på HERRENS namn.
13 Kvarlevan av Israel skall då icke mer göra något orätt, ej heller tala lögn, och i deras mun skall icke finnas en falsk tunga. Ja, de skola få beta och ligga i ro, utan att någon förskräcker dem.
14 Jubla, du dotter Sion, höj glädjerop, du Israel; var glad och fröjda dig av allt hjärta, du dotter Jerusalem.
15 HERREN har avvänt straffdomarna ifrån dig, han har röjt din fiende ur vägen. HERREN, som bor i dig, är Israels konung; du behöver ej mer frukta något ont.
16 På den tiden skall det sägas till Jerusalem; »Frukta icke, Sion låt ej modet falla.
17 HERREN, din Gud, bor i dig en hjälte som kan frälsa. Han gläder sig över dig med lust, han tiger stilla i sin kärlek, han fröjdas över dig med jubel.»
18 Dem som med bedrövelse måste sakna högtiderna, dem skall jag då församla, dem som levde skilda från dig, du som själv bar smälekens börda.
19 Ty se, jag skall på den tiden utföra mitt verk på alla dina förtryckare. jag skall frälsa de haltande och hämta tillhopa de fördrivna, jag skall låta dem bliva ett ämne till lovsång och till berömmelse på hela jorden, där de voro så smädade.
20 På den tiden skall jag låta eder komma tillbaka ja, på den tiden skall jag hämta eder tillhopa. Ty jag vill låta eder bliva ett ämne till berömmelse och till lovsång bland alla jordens folk, i det att jag åter upprättar eder, så att I sen det med egna ögon, säger HERREN.

Their cities are destroyed;
There is no one, no inhabitant.

A Faithful Remnant(H)
8 “Therefore (I)wait for Me,” says the Lord,
“Until the day I rise up [d]for plunder;
My determination is to (J)gather the nations
To My assembly of kingdoms,
To pour on them My indignation,
All My fierce anger;
All the earth (K)shall be devoured
With the fire of My jealousy.
9 “For then I will restore to the peoples (L)a pure [e]language,
That they all may call on the name of the Lord,
To serve Him with one accord.
10 (M)From beyond the rivers of Ethiopia
My worshipers,
The daughter of My dispersed ones,
Shall bring My offering.
11 In that day you shall not be shamed for any of your deeds
In which you transgress against Me;
For then I will take away from your midst
Those who (N)rejoice in your pride,
And you shall no longer be haughty
In My holy mountain.
12 I will leave in your midst
(O)A meek and humble people,
And they shall trust in the name of the Lord.
13 (P)The remnant of Israel (Q)shall do no unrighteousness

Joy in God’s Faithfulness
14 (T)Sing, O daughter of Zion!
Shout, O Israel!
Be glad and rejoice with all your heart,
O daughter of Jerusalem!
15 The Lord has taken away your judgments,

(U)The King of Israel, the Lord, (V)is in your midst;
You shall [f]see disaster no more.
16 In that day (W)it shall be said to Jerusalem:
“Do not fear;
Zion, (X)let not your hands be weak.
17 The Lord your God (Y)in your midst,
The Mighty One, will save;
(Z)He will rejoice over you with gladness,
He will quiet you with His love,
He will rejoice over you with singing.”
18 “I will gather those who (AA)sorrow over the appointed assembly,
Who are among you,
To whom its reproach is a burden.

I will deal with all who afflict you;

And gather those who were driven out;
