10 (A)Мъдър син радва баща си, а глупав син е тъга на майка си.
2 (B)Неправедни съкровища не докарват полза, а правда от смърт избавя.
3 (C)Господ не ще допусне да гладува душата на праведника, а богатството на нечестивците ще изтръгне.
4 (D)Ленива ръка докарва сиромашия, а ръката на прилежните обогатява.
5 Който събира през лятото, е разумен син, а който спи през жетва, е безпътен син.
6 Благословия почива върху главата на праведника, а насилие затваря устата на беззаконните.
7 (E)Споменът за праведника ще пребъде благословен, а името на нечестивците ще стане омразно.
8 (F)Мъдрият по сърце възприема заповеди, а глупавият на уста ще се препъне.
9 Който ходи в непорочност, ходи безопасно; а който изкривява пътищата си, ще бъде наказан.
10 (G)Който намигва с очи, докарва беда, а глупавият на уста ще се препъне.
11 Устата на праведника са извор на живот, а насилие затваря устата на беззаконните.
12 (H)Омразата подига раздори, а любовта покрива всички грехове.
13 В устата на разумния има мъдрост, а за гърба на глупеца – пръчка.
14 Мъдрите спазват знанието, а устата на глупеца са близка гибел.
15 (I)Имотът на богатия е негов укрепен град, съсипия за бедните е тяхната немотия.
16 Трудът на праведника води към живот, успехът на нечестивеца – към грях.
17 (J)Който пази поука, той е в пътя към живота; а който отхвърля изобличение, лута се.
18 Който крие омраза, има лъжливи уста; а който разглася клевета, е глупав.
19 (K)При много говорене не се избягва грехът, а който въздържа устата си, е разумен.
20 Езикът на праведника е отбор сребро, а сърцето на нечестивите е нищожество.
21 (L)Устата на праведника упътват мнозина, а глупавите умират от недостиг на разум.
22 Благословението Господне – то обогатява, и не принася със себе си тъга.
23 За глупеца да върши нещо престъпно е като забава, а на разумния човек е свойствена мъдростта.
24 От което се нечестивец бои, то ще го и постигне, а желанието на праведниците ще се изпълни.
25 (M)Както вихър минава, тъй и нечестивецът ще изчезне; а праведникът е върху вечни основи.
26 Каквото е оцет за зъби и дим за очи, това е и ленивецът за ония, които го пращат.
27 Страхът Господен придава дни, а годините на нечестивците ще се скратят.
28 (N)Очакванието на праведниците е радост, а надеждата на нечестивците ще загине.
29 Пътят Господен е крепост за непорочния и страх за ония, които вършат беззаконие.
30 Праведникът не ще се поколебае вовеки, а нечестивците не ще живеят дълго на земята.
31 От устата на праведника тече мъдрост, а зловредният език ще бъде отсечен.
32 Устата на праведника познават благоприятното, устата на нечестивите – развратеното.

10 Đây là những châm ngôn của Sô-lô-môn:
Con trai khôn ngoan làm cha mình vui,
nhưng con trai ngu dại gây buồn khổ cho mẹ nó.
2 Của bất nghĩa không có giá trị gì,
những ai công chính sẽ cứu mình khỏi chết.
3 Chúa không bao giờ để người lành bị đói khổ,
nhưng Ngài cản không cho kẻ ác đạt được ý muốn.
4 Ai lười biếng sẽ nghèo khổ,
nhưng ai chịu khó sẽ được giàu có.
5 Ai thu chứa hoa quả đúng mùa là khôn ngoan,
nhưng kẻ ngủ suốt mùa gặt là điều sỉ nhục.
6 Người nhân lành sẽ được nhiều ân phúc,
nhưng miệng kẻ ác che dấu điều hung bạo.
7 Người nhân đức để lại những nguồn phước hạnh,
nhưng tên tuổi kẻ ác sẽ bị tiêu diệt [a].
8 Người khôn làm theo điều chỉ bảo,
nhưng kẻ nói nhiều sẽ bị tổn hại.
9 Ai thanh liêm sẽ sống bình an,
nhưng kẻ bất lương sẽ bị bại lộ.
10 Kẻ dùng mắt mình làm dấu sẽ gặp lôi thôi,
và ai nói nhiều sẽ gặp tổn hại [b].
11 Lời nói của người tốt giống như suối nước tươi mát [c],
nhưng miệng kẻ ác sẽ bị thiệt hại.
12 Sự ghen ghét gây ra điều lôi thôi,
còn tình yêu thương tha thứ mọi lỗi lầm.
13 Sự khôn ngoan ở trên lưỡi người thông minh,
nhưng roi đập xuống lưng kẻ ngu dại [d].
14 Người khôn ngoan thận trọng khi nói ra điều mình biết,
còn miệng kẻ ngu dại mang tai hoạ cho mình.
15 Kẻ giàu được bảo vệ nhờ tiền nhiều,
nhưng kẻ nghèo bị tổn hại vì thiếu tiền.
16 Phần thưởng của người công chính là sự sống,
còn lợi tức của kẻ ác là sự trừng phạt.
17 Ai chịu sửa dạy là đi theo đường sự sống,
còn kẻ xem thường sự sửa trị sẽ dẫn kẻ khác lầm lạc.
18 Người che giấu điều ganh ghét là kẻ dối trá.
Kẻ loan tin đồn là dại [e].
19 Nói nhiều chỉ đưa đến lỗi lầm;
còn ai canh chừng miệng lưỡi mình là khôn.
20 Lời nói của người nhân đức như bạc nguyên chất,
nhưng tư tưởng của kẻ ác chẳng có giá trị gì.
21 Lời nói của người nhân đức giúp đỡ kẻ khác,
nhưng kẻ dại dột sẽ chết vì thiếu hiểu biết.
22 Phước lành của Chúa ban của cải,
còn vất vả cũng chẳng thêm được gì. [f]
23 Kẻ dại thích làm bậy,
còn người hiểu biết thích làm việc khôn.
24 Kẻ ác sẽ lãnh điều chúng nó sợ,
còn người nhân đức sẽ nhận được điều mình ao ước.
25 Trận bão sẽ thổi bay kẻ ác đi,
nhưng người nhân đức sẽ đứng vững vàng.
26 Kẻ biếng nhác làm hại người chủ sai mình đi,
như giấm buốt răng hay khói cay mắt.
27 Ai kính sợ Chúa sẽ sống lâu,
nhưng đời của kẻ ác sẽ bị cắt ngắn.
28 Niềm hi vọng của người lành mang lại vui mừng [g],
còn hi vọng kẻ ác sẽ tiêu tan.
29 Chúa gìn giữ người liêm chính,
nhưng Ngài diệt kẻ ác.
30 Người liêm chính sẽ không bao giờ bị lay chuyển,
còn kẻ ác sẽ bị đuổi ra [h] khỏi xứ.
31 Người nhân đức nói ra những lời khôn ngoan,
nhưng lưỡi của kẻ nói dối sẽ bị cắt đi.
32 Người nhân đức biết điều mình phải nói,
nhưng kẻ ác chỉ chuyên nói dối.

10 The (A)proverbs of Solomon.
(B)A wise son makes a father glad,
But (C)a foolish son is a grief to his mother.
2 (D)Treasures gained by wickedness do not profit,
But righteousness delivers from death.
3 Yahweh (E)will not allow the soul of the righteous to hunger,
But He (F)will push away the craving of the wicked.
4 Poor is he who works with a slack [a]hand,
But the (G)hand of the diligent makes rich.
5 He who gathers in summer is a son who acts insightfully,
But he who sleeps in harvest is a son who acts shamefully.
6 (H)Blessings are on the head of the righteous,
But (I)the mouth of the wicked covers up violence.
7 The (J)remembrance of the righteous is blessed,
But (K)the name of the wicked will rot.
8 The (L)wise of heart will receive commandments,
But an ignorant fool of loose lips will be [b]ruined.
9 He (M)who walks in integrity walks securely,
But (N)he who makes his ways crooked will be found out.
10 He (O)who winks the eye causes pain,
And (P)an ignorant fool of loose lips will be [c]ruined.
11 The (Q)mouth of the righteous is a fountain of life,
But (R)the mouth of the wicked covers up violence.
12 Hatred stirs up strife,
But (S)love covers all transgressions.
13 On (T)the lips of the one who has understanding, wisdom is found,
But (U)a rod is for the back of him who lacks a heart of wisdom.
14 Wise men (V)store up knowledge,
But (W)the mouth of the ignorant fool draws ruin near.
15 The (X)rich man’s wealth is his strong city,
The (Y)ruin of the poor is their poverty.
16 The [d](Z)wages of the righteous is life,
The income of the wicked, punishment.
17 He (AA)is on the path of life who keeps discipline,
But he who forsakes reproof makes [e]himself wander about.
18 He (AB)who covers up hatred has lying lips,
And he who spreads a bad report is a fool.
19 When there are (AC)many words, transgression is unavoidable,
But (AD)he who holds back his lips has insight.
20 The tongue of the righteous is as (AE)choice silver,
The heart of the wicked is worth little.
21 The (AF)lips of the righteous feed many,
But ignorant fools (AG)die for lack of a heart of wisdom.
22 It is the (AH)blessing of Yahweh that makes rich,
And He adds no pain with it.
23 Doing wickedness is like (AI)laughing to a fool,
And so is wisdom to a man of discernment.
24 What (AJ)the wicked dreads will come upon him,
But the (AK)desire of the righteous will be granted.
25 When the (AL)whirlwind passes, the wicked is no more,
But the (AM)righteous has an everlasting foundation.
26 Like vinegar to the teeth and like smoke to the eyes,
So is the (AN)sluggard to those who send him.
27 The (AO)fear of Yahweh prolongs [f]life,
But the (AP)years of the wicked will be shortened.
28 The (AQ)expectation of the righteous is gladness,
But the (AR)hope of the wicked will perish.
29 The (AS)way of Yahweh is a stronghold to the one with integrity,
But (AT)ruin to the workers of iniquity.
30 The (AU)righteous will never be shaken,
But (AV)the wicked will not dwell in the land.
31 The (AW)mouth of the righteous bears wisdom,
But the tongue of (AX)perversions will be cut out.
32 The lips of the righteous know (AY)what is acceptable,
But the (AZ)mouth of the wicked [g]what is perverse.

13 Wisdom is found on the lips of the discerning,(W)

18 Whoever conceals hatred with lying lips(AF)
and spreads slander is a fool.
19 Sin is not ended by multiplying words,

but the heart of the wicked is of little value.
21 The lips of the righteous nourish many,
but fools die for lack of sense.(AH)
23 A fool finds pleasure in wicked schemes,(AL)
but a person of understanding delights in wisdom.
28 The prospect of the righteous is joy,
but the hopes of the wicked come to nothing.(AV)
29 The way of the Lord is a refuge for the blameless,
but it is the ruin of those who do evil.(AW)
30 The righteous will never be uprooted,
but the wicked will not remain in the land.(AX)

3 The Lord will not suffer the soul of the righteous to famish: but he casteth away the substance of the wicked.
4 He becometh poor that dealeth with a slack hand: but the hand of the diligent maketh rich.
5 He that gathereth in summer is a wise son: but he that sleepeth in harvest is a son that causeth shame.
6 Blessings are upon the head of the just: but violence covereth the mouth of the wicked.
7 The memory of the just is blessed: but the name of the wicked shall rot.

20 The tongue of the just is as choice silver: the heart of the wicked is little worth.
21 The lips of the righteous feed many: but fools die for want of wisdom.
22 The blessing of the Lord, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it.
23 It is as sport to a fool to do mischief: but a man of understanding hath wisdom.
24 The fear of the wicked, it shall come upon him: but the desire of the righteous shall be granted.
25 As the whirlwind passeth, so is the wicked no more: but the righteous is an everlasting foundation.
26 As vinegar to the teeth, and as smoke to the eyes, so is the sluggard to them that send him.
27 The fear of the Lord prolongeth days: but the years of the wicked shall be shortened.
28 The hope of the righteous shall be gladness: but the expectation of the wicked shall perish.
29 The way of the Lord is strength to the upright: but destruction shall be to the workers of iniquity.
30 The righteous shall never be removed: but the wicked shall not inhabit the earth.
31 The mouth of the just bringeth forth wisdom: but the froward tongue shall be cut out.
