24 (A)Господ ми показа: и ето, две кошници със смокини, турени пред храма Господен, – след като вавилонският цар Навуходоносор изведе из Иерусалим пленени иудейския цар Иехония, Иоакимов син, и иудейските князе с дърводелците и ковачите и ги отведе във Вавилон:
2 едната кошница беше със смокини твърде добри, каквито биват ранните смокини, а другата кошница – със смокини, твърде лоши, които поради лошавината им не можеха да се ядат.
3 И попита ме Господ: що виждаш, Иеремие? – Аз отговорих: смокини; добрите смокини са твърде добри, а лошите – твърде лоши, тъй че не могат да се ядат, защото са твърде лоши.
4 И биде към мене слово Господне:
5 тъй казва Господ, Бог Израилев: като тия добри смокини Аз ще припозная добри иудейските преселници, които Аз изпратих от това място в Халдейската земя;
6 (B)и ще обърна към тях Моите очи за тяхно добро и ще ги върна в тая земя, и ще ги уредя, а не съсипя, и ще ги посадя, а не изкореня;
7 (C)и ще им дам сърце, да Ме познават, че Аз съм Господ, и те ще бъдат Мой народ, Аз пък ще бъда техен Бог; защото те ще се обърнат към Мене с все сърце.
8 (D)А за лошите смокини, които и не могат да се ядат поради лошавината им, тъй казва Господ: такива Аз ще направя иудейския цар Седекия и князете му и другите иерусалимци, които остават в тая земя и които живеят в Египетската земя;
9 (E)и ще ги предам за озлобение и за тежко страдание във всички земни царства, за поругание, за приказ, за присмех и за проклятие по всички места, където ще ги прогоня.
10 (F)И ще напратя върху тях меч, глад и мор, докле ги не изтребя от земята, която дадох тям и на отците им.

Las dos cestas de higos
24 Después que Nabucodonosor, rey de Babilonia, desterró a Jeconías, hijo de Joacim, rey de Judá, y a los oficiales de Judá junto con los artesanos y herreros de Jerusalén, y los llevó a Babilonia(A), el Señor me mostró dos cestas de higos(B) colocadas delante del templo del Señor. 2 Una cesta tenía higos muy buenos, como los primeros higos maduros(C); y la otra tenía higos muy malos, que de podridos no se podían comer(D). 3 Entonces el Señor me dijo: «¿Qué ves, Jeremías?». Yo dije(E): «Higos; los higos buenos son muy buenos, pero los malos son muy malos, que de podridos no se pueden comer».
4 Entonces vino a mí la palabra del Señor: 5 «Así dice el Señor, Dios de Israel: “Como a estos higos buenos, así consideraré como buenos a los desterrados de Judá que Yo he echado de este lugar a la tierra de los caldeos(F). 6 Porque pondré Mis ojos sobre ellos para bien, y los traeré de nuevo a esta tierra(G); los edificaré y no los derribaré, los plantaré(H) y no los arrancaré. 7 Les daré un corazón para que me conozcan, porque Yo soy el Señor; y ellos serán Mi pueblo y Yo seré su Dios(I), pues volverán a Mí de todo corazón(J).
8 ”Pero como a los higos malos que de podridos no se pueden comer(K)”, así dice el Señor, “de la misma manera abandonaré[a] a Sedequías(L), rey de Judá, a sus oficiales(M), al remanente de Jerusalén que queda en esta tierra y a los que habitan en la tierra de Egipto(N). 9 Los haré motivo de espanto y de calamidad para todos los reinos de la tierra, de oprobio y refrán(O), de burla y maldición(P) en todos los lugares adonde los dispersaré(Q). 10 Y enviaré sobre ellos espada, hambre y pestilencia hasta que sean exterminados(R) de la tierra que les di a ellos y a sus padres”».

24 The Lord shewed me, and, behold, two baskets of figs were set before the temple of the Lord, after that Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon had carried away captive Jeconiah the son of Jehoiakim king of Judah, and the princes of Judah, with the carpenters and smiths, from Jerusalem, and had brought them to Babylon.
2 One basket had very good figs, even like the figs that are first ripe: and the other basket had very naughty figs, which could not be eaten, they were so bad.
3 Then said the Lord unto me, What seest thou, Jeremiah? And I said, Figs; the good figs, very good; and the evil, very evil, that cannot be eaten, they are so evil.
4 Again the word of the Lord came unto me, saying,
5 Thus saith the Lord, the God of Israel; Like these good figs, so will I acknowledge them that are carried away captive of Judah, whom I have sent out of this place into the land of the Chaldeans for their good.
6 For I will set mine eyes upon them for good, and I will bring them again to this land: and I will build them, and not pull them down; and I will plant them, and not pluck them up.
7 And I will give them an heart to know me, that I am the Lord: and they shall be my people, and I will be their God: for they shall return unto me with their whole heart.
8 And as the evil figs, which cannot be eaten, they are so evil; surely thus saith the Lord, So will I give Zedekiah the king of Judah, and his princes, and the residue of Jerusalem, that remain in this land, and them that dwell in the land of Egypt:
9 And I will deliver them to be removed into all the kingdoms of the earth for their hurt, to be a reproach and a proverb, a taunt and a curse, in all places whither I shall drive them.
10 And I will send the sword, the famine, and the pestilence, among them, till they be consumed from off the land that I gave unto them and to their fathers.

The Sign of Two Baskets of Figs
24 The (A)Lord showed me, and there were two baskets of figs set before the temple of the Lord, after Nebuchadnezzar (B)king of Babylon had carried away captive (C)Jeconiah the son of Jehoiakim, king of Judah, and the princes of Judah with the craftsmen and smiths, from Jerusalem, and had brought them to Babylon. 2 One basket had very good figs, like the figs that are first ripe; and the other basket had very bad figs which could not be eaten, they were so (D)bad. 3 Then the Lord said to me, “What do you see, Jeremiah?”
And I said, “Figs, the good figs, very good; and the bad, very bad, which cannot be eaten, they are so bad.”
4 Again the word of the Lord came to me, saying, 5 “Thus says the Lord, the God of Israel: ‘Like these good figs, so will I [a]acknowledge those who are carried away captive from Judah, whom I have sent out of this place for their own good, into the land of the Chaldeans. 6 For I will set My eyes on them for good, and (E)I will bring them back to this land; (F)I will build them and not pull them down, and I will plant them and not pluck them up. 7 Then I will give them (G)a heart to know Me, that I am the Lord; and they shall be (H)My people, and I will be their God, for they shall return to Me (I)with their whole heart.
