Isaiah 12

Yahweh Is My Strength and My Song

12 Then you will say in that day,
(A)I will give thanks to You, O Yahweh;
For (B)although You were angry with me,
Your anger is turned away,
And You comfort me.
Behold, (C)God is my salvation,
I will (D)trust and not dread;
For [a](E)Yah—Yahweh Himself—is my strength and song,
And He has become my salvation.”
Therefore you will joyously (F)draw water
From the (G)springs of salvation.
And in that day you will (H)say,
(I)Give thanks to Yahweh, call on His name.
(J)Make known His deeds among the peoples;
[b]Make them remember that His name is exalted.”
(K)Praise Yahweh in song, for He has done [c]majestic things;
Let this be known throughout the earth.
(L)Cry aloud and shout for joy, O inhabitant of Zion,
For (M)great in your midst is the Holy One of Israel.

Isaiah 59:15-21

15 So it is that truth is missing;
And he who turns aside from evil (A)makes himself plunder.
Then Yahweh saw,
And it was evil in His eyes (B)that there was no justice.
16 And He saw that there was (C)no man,
And was astonished that there was no one to intercede;
Then His (D)own arm brought salvation to Him,
And His righteousness upheld Him.
17 He put on (E)righteousness like a breastplate,
And a (F)helmet of salvation on His head;
And He put on (G)garments of vengeance for clothing
And wrapped Himself with (H)zeal as a mantle.
18 (I)According to [a]what they deserve, [b]so He will pay in full,
Wrath to His adversaries, [c]what is deserved to His enemies;
To the coastlands He will [d]pay what they deserve.
19 So they will fear the name of Yahweh from the (J)west
And His glory from the (K)rising of the sun,
For He will (L)come like a [e]rushing stream
Which the wind of Yahweh makes flee.
20 “A (M)Redeemer will come to Zion,
And to those who (N)turn from transgression in Jacob,” declares Yahweh.

21 “As for Me, this is My (O)covenant with them,” says Yahweh: “My (P)Spirit which is upon you, and My (Q)words which I have put in your mouth, shall not depart from your mouth, nor from the mouth of your seed, nor from the mouth of your seed’s seed,” says Yahweh, “from now and forever.”

Luke 17:20-37

20 Now having been questioned by the Pharisees (A)as to when the kingdom of God was coming, He answered them and said, “The kingdom of God is not coming with [a](B)signs to be observed, 21 nor will (C)they say, ‘Look, here!’ or, ‘There!’ For behold, the kingdom of God is in your midst.”

The Coming of the Son of Man

22 And He said to the disciples, (D)The days will come when you will long to see one of the days of the Son of Man, and you will not see it. 23 (E)And they will say to you, ‘Look there! Look here!’ Do not go away, and do not run after them. 24 (F)For just like the lightning, when it flashes out of one part [b]of the sky, shines to the other part [c]of the sky, so will the Son of Man be in His day. 25 (G)But first He must suffer many things and be rejected by this generation. 26 (H)And just as it was (I)in the days of Noah, so it will be also in the days of the Son of Man: 27 they were eating, they were drinking, they were marrying, they were being given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and the flood came and destroyed them all. 28 [d]It was the same as in (J)the days of Lot—they were eating, they were drinking, they were buying, they were selling, they were planting, they were building; 29 but on the day that Lot went out from Sodom it rained fire and [e]brimstone from heaven and destroyed them all. 30 It will be [f]just the same on the day that the Son of Man (K)is revealed. 31 On that day, the one who is (L)on the housetop and whose goods are in the house must not go down to take them out, and likewise the one who is in the field must not turn back. 32 (M)Remember Lot’s wife. 33 (N)Whoever seeks to keep his [g]life will lose it, and whoever loses his life will preserve it. 34 I tell you, on that night there will be two in one bed; one will be taken and the other will be left. 35 (O)There will be two women grinding grain at the same place; one will be taken and the other will be left. 36 [h][(P)Two men will be in the field; one will be taken and the other will be left.”] 37 And answering they *said to Him, “Where, Lord?” And He said to them, (Q)Where the body is, there also the [i]vultures will be gathered.”
