²⁸ His ^(A)breath is like an overflowing torrent,
Which ^(B)reaches to the neck,
To ^(C)shake the nations back and forth in a ^[a]sieve of worthlessness,
And to put in the jaws of the peoples ^(D)the bridle which staggers one to ruin.

¹² For thus says Yahweh, “Behold, I stretch out ^(A)peace to her like a river,
And the ^(B)glory of the nations like an overflowing stream;
And you will ^[a]be nursed; you will be ^(C)carried on the ^[b]hip and played with on the knees.
