Revised Common Lectionary (Semicontinuous)
There Is No One Who Does Good
For the choir director. According to [a]Mahalath. A [b]Maskil of David.
53 (A)The wicked fool says in his heart, “There is no God,”
They act corruptly, and commit abominable injustice;
(B)There is no one who does good.
2 God looks down from heaven upon the sons of men
To see if there is (C)anyone who has insight,
Anyone who (D)seeks after God.
3 (E)Every one of them has turned back; together they have become [c]worthless;
There is no one who does good, not even one.
4 Do the workers of iniquity (F)not know,
Who eat up my people as they eat bread
And do not call upon God?
5 There they were in great dread (G)where no dread had been;
For God (H)scattered the bones of [d]him who encamped against you;
You (I)put them to shame, because (J)God had rejected them.
6 Oh, that (K)the salvation of Israel [e]would come out of Zion!
When God [f]restores His captive people,
[g]May Jacob rejoice, may Israel be glad.
The Day of Atonement
26 And Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying, 27 “On exactly (A)the tenth day of this seventh month is (B)the day of atonement; it shall be a holy convocation for you, and you shall humble your souls and bring an offering by fire near to Yahweh. 28 And you shall not do any work on this same day, for it is a (C)day of atonement, (D)to make atonement on your behalf before Yahweh your God. 29 If there is any [a]person who will not humble himself on this same day, (E)he shall be cut off from his people. 30 And as for any person who does any work on this same day, that person I will cause to perish from among his people. 31 You shall do no work at all. It is to be a perpetual statute throughout your generations in all your places of habitation. 32 It is to be a sabbath of complete rest to you, and you shall humble your souls; on the ninth of the month at evening, from evening until evening you shall keep your sabbath.”
The Feast of Booths
33 Again Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying, 34 “Speak to the sons of Israel, saying, ‘On (F)the fifteenth of this seventh month is the (G)Feast of Booths for seven days to Yahweh. 35 On the first day is a holy convocation; you shall do (H)no laborious work of any kind. 36 (I)For seven days you shall bring an offering by fire near to Yahweh. On (J)the eighth day you shall have a holy convocation and bring an offering by fire near to Yahweh; it is a solemn assembly. You shall do no laborious work.
37 ‘These are (K)the appointed times of Yahweh which you shall proclaim as holy convocations, to bring offerings by fire near to Yahweh—burnt offerings and grain offerings, sacrifices and drink offerings, (L)each day’s matter on its own day— 38 besides those of the sabbaths of Yahweh and besides your gifts and besides all your [b]votive and freewill offerings, which you give to Yahweh.
39 ‘On exactly the fifteenth day of the seventh month, (M)when you have gathered in the produce of the land, you shall celebrate the feast of Yahweh for seven days, with a [c]rest on the first day and a [d]rest on the eighth day. 40 And on the first day you shall take for yourselves the [e]foliage of beautiful trees, palm branches and boughs of leafy trees and willows of the brook, and you shall be glad before Yahweh your God for seven days. 41 You shall thus celebrate it as a feast to Yahweh for seven days in the year. It shall be a perpetual statute throughout your generations; you shall celebrate it in the seventh month.
Hallelujah!
19 After these things I heard something like a (A)loud voice of a great crowd in heaven, saying,
“(B)Hallelujah! (C)Salvation and (D)glory and power belong to our God; 2 (E)because His (F)judgments are (G)true and righteous; for He has judged the (H)great harlot who was corrupting the earth with her sexual immorality, and He has (I)avenged the blood of His slaves shed by her hand.” 3 And a second time they said, “(J)Hallelujah! (K)Her smoke rises up forever and ever.” 4 And the (L)twenty-four elders and the (M)four living creatures (N)fell down and worshiped God who sits on the throne saying, “(O)Amen. (P)Hallelujah!” 5 And a voice came from the throne, saying,
“(Q)Give praise to our God, all you His slaves, (R)you who fear Him, the small and the great.” 6 Then I heard something like (S)the voice of a great crowd and like (T)the sound of many waters and like the (U)sound of mighty peals of thunder, saying,
“(V)Hallelujah! For the (W)Lord our God, the Almighty, reigns.
The Marriage Supper of the Lamb
7 Let us rejoice and be glad and (X)give the glory to Him, for (Y)the marriage of the Lamb has come and His [a](Z)bride has made herself ready.” 8 And it was given to her to clothe herself in (AA)fine linen, bright and clean; for the fine linen is the (AB)righteous acts of the saints.
