Psalm 91:1-2

In the Shadow of the Almighty

91 He who abides in the (A)shelter of the Most High
Will abide in the (B)shadow of the Almighty.
I will say to Yahweh, “My (C)refuge and my (D)fortress,
My God, in whom I (E)trust!”

Psalm 91:9-16

[a]For you have made Yahweh—(A)my refuge,
The Most High—(B)your dwelling place.
10 (C)No evil will befall you,
And no plague will come near your [b]tent.

11 For He will command (D)His angels concerning you,
To guard you in all your ways.
12 On their hands they will (E)bear you up,
Lest you strike your foot against a stone.
13 You will (F)tread upon the fierce lion and cobra,
The young lion and the [c]serpent you will trample down.

14 (G)Because he has loved Me, therefore I will protect him;
I will (H)set him securely on high, because he has (I)known My name.
15 He will (J)call upon Me, and I will answer him;
I will be with him in his [d]distress;
I will rescue him and (K)honor him.
16 With [e]a (L)long life I will satisfy him
And (M)I will show him My salvation.”

Exodus 6:1-13

Yahweh Remembers His Covenant

Then Yahweh said to Moses, “Now you shall see what I will do to Pharaoh; for (A)by a strong hand he will let them go, and by a strong hand he will drive them out of his land.”

God spoke further to Moses and said to him, “I am (B)Yahweh; and I appeared to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, as [a](C)God Almighty, but by (D)My name, Yahweh, I was not known to them. And I also established (E)My covenant with them, to give them the land of Canaan, the [b]land in which they sojourned. Furthermore I have (F)heard the groaning of the sons of Israel because the Egyptians are holding them in slavery, and I have remembered My covenant. Say, therefore, to the sons of Israel, ‘(G)I am Yahweh, and (H)I will bring you out from under the hard labors of the Egyptians, and I will deliver you from their slavery. I will also (I)redeem you with (J)an outstretched arm and with great judgments. Then I will take you [c](K)for My people, and (L)I will be [d]your God; and (M)you shall know that I am Yahweh your God, who brought you out from under the hard labors of the Egyptians. And I will bring you to the land which (N)I [e]swore to give to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, and (O)I will give it to you for a possession; (P)I am Yahweh.’” So Moses spoke thus to the sons of Israel, but they did not listen to Moses on (Q)account of their weakness of spirit and [f]hard slavery.

10 Now Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying, 11 (R)Come, [g]tell Pharaoh king of Egypt [h]to let the sons of Israel go out of his land.” 12 But Moses spoke before Yahweh, saying, “Behold, the sons of Israel have not listened to me; (S)how then will Pharaoh listen to me, for I am of (T)uncircumcised lips?” 13 Then Yahweh spoke to Moses and to Aaron and gave them a command for the sons of Israel and for Pharaoh king of Egypt, to bring the sons of Israel out of the land of Egypt.

Acts 7:35-42

35 “This Moses whom they (A)disowned, saying, ‘Who made you a ruler and a judge?’ is the one whom God [a]sent to be both a ruler and a deliverer with the [b]help of the angel who appeared to him in the bush. 36 (B)This man led them out, doing (C)wonders and [c]signs in the land of Egypt and in the Red Sea and in the (D)wilderness for forty years. 37 This is the Moses who said to the sons of Israel, ‘(E)God will raise up for you a prophet [d]like me from your brothers.’ 38 This is the one who, in (F)the [e]congregation in the wilderness, was with (G)the angel who was speaking to him on Mount Sinai and with our fathers; the one who received (H)living (I)oracles to pass on to you. 39 Our fathers were unwilling to be obedient to him, but (J)rejected him and in their hearts turned back to Egypt, 40 (K)saying to Aaron, ‘Make for us gods who will go before us; for this Moses who led us out of the land of Egyptwe do not know what has become of him.’ 41 [f]At that time (L)they made a [g]calf and brought a sacrifice to the idol, and were rejoicing in (M)the works of their hands. 42 But God (N)turned away and delivered them up to [h]serve the [i]host of heaven; as it is written in the book of the prophets, ‘(O)Did you present Me with slain beasts and sacrifices (P)forty years in the wilderness, O house of Israel?
