²⁹ And it came to pass, as Moses came down from Mount Sinai with the two tables of testimony in Moses’ hand, while he came down from the mount, that Moses did not know that the skin of his face shone after he had talked with him.

³⁰ And when Aaron and all the sons of Israel saw Moses, behold, the skin of his face shone; and they were afraid to come near him.

³¹ And Moses called them, and Aaron and all the princes of the congregation returned unto him, and Moses talked with them.

³² And afterward all the sons of Israel came near, and he gave them in commandment all that the LORD had spoken with him in Mount Sinai.

³³ And when Moses had finished speaking with them, he put a veil over his face.

³⁴ But when Moses went in before the LORD to speak with him, he would take the veil off until he came out. And as he came out, he would speak unto the sons of Israel that which he was commanded.

³⁵ And the sons of Israel would see the face of Moses that the skin of Moses’ face shone, and Moses would put the veil upon his face again until he would go in to speak with him.

¹ ¶ The LORD reigns; the peoples shall tremble; he who sits above the cherubim reigns; the earth shall be moved.

² The LORD is great in Zion, and he is high above all the peoples.

³ Let them praise thy great and terrible name, for it is holy.

⁴ The king’s strength is that he loves judgment; thou dost establish equity; thou dost execute judgment and righteousness in Jacob.

⁵ Exalt ye the LORD our God and worship at the footstool of his feet, which is holy.

⁶ ¶ Moses and Aaron are among his priests and Samuel among those that call upon his name; they called upon the LORD, and he answered them.

⁷ He spoke unto them in the pillar of fire; they kept his testimonies and the order that he gave them.

⁸ Thou didst answer them, O LORD our God; thou wast a God that didst forgive them, and an avenger for their works.

⁹ Exalt the LORD our God and worship at the mountain of his holiness, for the LORD our God is holy.

¹² ¶ Seeing then that we have such hope, we speak with great confidence,

¹³ And not as Moses, who put a veil over his face, that the sons of Israel could not steadfastly look to the end of that glory which was to fade away:

¹⁴ (And thus their senses became hardened, for until this day remains the same veil not uncovered in the reading of the old testament, which veil is taken away in Christ.

¹⁵ But even unto this day when Moses is read, the veil is upon their heart.

¹⁶ Nevertheless when they convert to the Lord, the veil shall be taken away.)

¹⁷ For the Lord is the Spirit, and where that Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.

¹⁸ Therefore we all, beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord with uncovered face, are transformed from glory to glory into the same likeness, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.

4 ¶ Therefore seeing we have this ministry, according to the mercy we have received, we fault not,

² but remove from ourselves every hidden shameful thing, not walking in craftiness, nor adulterating the word of God, but in the manifestation of the truth, commending ourselves to every man’s conscience in the sight of God.

²⁸ ¶ And it came to pass about eight days after these words, he took Peter and John and James and went up into the mountain to pray.

²⁹ And as he prayed, the fashion of his countenance was altered, and his raiment was white and glistering.

³⁰ And, behold, two men talked with him, who were Moses and Elijah,

³¹ who appeared in majesty and spoke of his decease which he should accomplish at Jerusalem.

³² But Peter and those that were with him were heavy with sleep, and when they awoke, they saw his glory and the two men that stood with him.

³³ And it came to pass as they departed from him, Peter said unto Jesus, Master, it is good for us to remain here; and let us make three tabernacles: one for thee and one for Moses and one for Elijah, not knowing what he said.

³⁴ While he was speaking this, a cloud came and overshadowed them; and they feared as they entered into the cloud.

³⁵ And a voice came out of the cloud, saying, This is my beloved Son; hear him.

³⁶ And when the voice was past, Jesus was found alone. And they kept silent and told no one in those days any of those things which they had seen.

³⁷ ¶ And it came to pass, that on the next day, when they were come down from the mountain, many people met him.

³⁸ And, behold, a man of the multitude cried out, saying, Master, I beseech thee, look upon my son, for he is my only child.

³⁹ And, behold, a spirit takes him, and he suddenly cries out; and it throws him into convulsions with foaming, and with difficulty it departs from him, bruising him.

⁴⁰ And I besought thy disciples to cast him out, and they could not.

⁴¹ And Jesus answering said, O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you and suffer you? Bring thy son here.

⁴² And as he was yet a coming, the demon threw him down into convulsions; but Jesus rebuked the unclean spirit and healed the child and delivered him again to his father.

⁴³ ¶ And they were all amazed at the mighty power of God. But while they all wondered at all the things which Jesus did, he said unto his disciples,
