Exodus 34:29-35

The Shining Face of Moses

29 Now it happened when Moses was coming down from Mount Sinai (and the (A)two tablets of the testimony were in Moses’ hand as he was coming down from the mountain), that Moses did not know that (B)the skin of his face shone because of his speaking with Him. 30 Then Aaron and all the sons of Israel saw Moses, and behold, the skin of his face shone, and (C)they were afraid to come near him. 31 Then Moses called to them, and Aaron and all the rulers in the congregation returned to him; and Moses spoke to them. 32 And afterward all the sons of Israel came near, and he commanded them everything that Yahweh had spoken [a]to him on Mount Sinai. 33 Then Moses finished speaking with them and (D)put a veil over his face. 34 But whenever Moses went in before Yahweh to speak with Him, (E)he would take off the veil until he came out; and then he would come out and speak to the sons of Israel what he had been commanded, 35 (F)and the sons of Israel would see the face of Moses, that the skin of Moses’ face shone. So Moses would return the veil over his face until he went in to speak with Him.

Psalm 99

Holy Is Yahweh Our God

99 (A)Yahweh reigns, let the peoples tremble;
He (B)sits enthroned above the cherubim, let the earth quake!
Yahweh is (C)great in Zion,
And He is (D)exalted above all the peoples.
Let them praise Your (E)great and awesome name;
(F)Holy is [a]He.
[b]The strength of the King (G)loves [c]justice;
You have established [d](H)equity;
You have (I)done [e]justice and righteousness in Jacob.
(J)Exalt Yahweh our God
And (K)worship at the footstool of His feet;
(L)Holy is He.

(M)Moses and Aaron were among His (N)priests,
And (O)Samuel was among those who (P)called on His name;
They (Q)would call upon Yahweh and He would answer them.
He (R)would speak to them in the pillar of cloud;
They (S)kept His testimonies
And the statute that He gave them.
O Yahweh our God, You (T)answered them;
You were a (U)forgiving God to them,
And yet an (V)avenger of their evil deeds.
Exalt Yahweh our God
And worship at His holy mountain,
For holy is Yahweh our God.

2 Corinthians 3:12-4:2

12 (A)Therefore having such a hope, (B)we use great boldness, 13 and are not like Moses, (C)who used to put a veil over his face so that the sons of Israel would not look intently at the consequence of what was being brought to an end. 14 But their minds were (D)hardened; for until this very day at the (E)reading of (F)the old covenant the same veil [a]remains unlifted, because it is brought to an end in Christ. 15 But to this day whenever Moses is read, a veil lies over their heart, 16 but (G)whenever a person turns to the [b]Lord, the veil is taken away. 17 Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where (H)the Spirit of the Lord is, (I)there is freedom. 18 But we all, with unveiled face, (J)beholding as in a mirror the (K)glory of the Lord, are being (L)transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as from (M)the Lord, the Spirit.

The Gospel of the Glory of Christ

Therefore, since we have this (N)ministry, as we (O)received mercy, we (P)do not lose heart, but we have renounced the (Q)hidden things of shame, not walking in craftiness or (R)adulterating the word of God, but by the manifestation of truth (S)commending ourselves to every man’s conscience in the sight of God.

Luke 9:28-36

The Transfiguration

28 (A)Now it happened some eight days after these words, that taking along (B)Peter and John and James, He (C)went up on the mountain (D)to pray. 29 And it happened that while He was (E)praying, the appearance of His face (F)became different, and His clothing became white and [a]gleaming. 30 And behold, two men were talking with Him, and they were Moses and Elijah, 31 who, appearing in [b]glory, were speaking of His [c](G)departure which He was about to fulfill at Jerusalem. 32 Now Peter and his companions (H)had been overcome with sleep, but when they were fully awake, they saw His glory and the two men standing with Him. 33 And it happened that as they were leaving Him, Peter said to Jesus, “(I)Master, it is good for us to be here; (J)let us make three [d]booths: one for You, and one for Moses, and one for Elijah”—(K)not realizing what he was saying. 34 While he was saying this, a cloud [e]formed and began to overshadow them; and they were afraid as they entered the cloud. 35 Then (L)a voice came out of the cloud, saying, “(M)This is My Son, My Chosen One; listen to Him!” 36 And when the voice [f]had spoken, Jesus was found alone. And (N)they kept silent, and reported to no one in those days any of the things which they had seen.

Luke 9:37-43

Jesus Casts Out a Demon

37 (A)Now it happened on the next day, that when they came down from the mountain, a large crowd met Him. 38 And behold, a man from the crowd shouted, saying, “Teacher, I beg You to look at my son, for he is my [a]only one, 39 and behold, a spirit seizes him, and he suddenly screams, and it throws him into a convulsion with foaming at the mouth, and only with difficulty does it leave him, mauling him as it leaves. 40 And I begged Your disciples to cast it out, and they could not.” 41 And Jesus answered and said, “You unbelieving and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you and put up with you? Bring your son here.” 42 Now while he was still approaching, the demon [b]slammed him to the ground and threw him into a convulsion. But Jesus rebuked the unclean spirit and healed the boy and gave him back to his father. 43 And they were all astonished at the (B)majesty of God.

Jesus Foretells His Death and Resurrection

(C)But while everyone was marveling at all that He was doing, He said to His disciples,
