Psalm 107:1-3

BOOK V

(Psalms 107–150)

Psalm 107

Thanksgiving for God’s Deliverance

Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good;
his faithful love endures forever.(A)
Let the redeemed of the Lord proclaim
that he has redeemed them from the power of the foe(B)
and has gathered them from the lands—
from the east and the west,
from the north and the south.(C)

Psalm 107:17-22

17 Fools suffered affliction
because of their rebellious ways and their iniquities.(A)
18 They loathed all food
and came near the gates of death.(B)
19 Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble;
he saved them from their distress.(C)
20 He sent his word and healed them;
he rescued them from their traps.
21 Let them give thanks to the Lord
for his faithful love
and his wondrous works for all humanity.(D)
22 Let them offer thanksgiving sacrifices
and announce his works with shouts of joy.(E)

Daniel 12:5-13

Then I, Daniel, looked, and two others were standing there, one on this bank of the river and one on the other. One of them said to the man dressed in linen,(A) who was above the water of the river,(B) “How long until the end(C) of these wondrous things?” Then I heard the man dressed in linen, who was above the water of the river. He raised both his hands[a](D) toward heaven and swore by him who lives eternally(E) that it would be for a time, times, and half a time.(F) When the power of the holy people is shattered, all these things will be completed.

I heard but did not understand. So I asked, “My lord, what will be the outcome of these things?” (G)

He said, “Go on your way, Daniel, for the words are secret(H) and sealed until the time of the end.(I) 10 Many will be purified,(J) cleansed, and refined,(K) but the wicked will act wickedly;(L) none of the wicked will understand, but those who have insight will understand.(M) 11 From the time the daily sacrifice is abolished and the abomination of desolation(N) is set up,(O) there will be 1,290 days. 12 Happy is the one who waits(P) for and reaches 1,335 days. 13 But as for you, go on your way to the end;[b] you will rest, and then you will rise[c] to receive(Q) your allotted inheritance at the end of the days.”

Ephesians 1:7-14

In him we have redemption(A) through his blood, the forgiveness(B) of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace that he richly poured out on us with all wisdom and understanding.[a] He made known to us the mystery of his will,(C) according to his good pleasure that he purposed in Christ(D) 10 as a plan for the right time[b]—to bring everything together in Christ,(E) both things in heaven and things on earth(F) in him.(G)

11 In him we have also received an inheritance,[c] because we were predestined(H) according to the plan of the one who works out everything in agreement with the purpose of his will, 12 so that we who had already put our hope(I) in Christ might bring praise to his glory.(J)

13 In him you also were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit(K) when you heard the word of truth,(L) the gospel of your salvation, and when you believed. 14 The Holy Spirit is the down payment(M) of our inheritance, until the redemption of the possession, to the praise of his glory.
