Version
Psalm 96

Psalm 96(A)

King of the Earth

Sing a new song to the Lord;
let the whole earth sing to the Lord.(B)
Sing to the Lord, bless his name;
proclaim his salvation from day to day.(C)
Declare his glory among the nations,
his wondrous works among all peoples.(D)

For the Lord is great and is highly praised;
he is feared above all gods.(E)
For all the gods of the peoples are worthless idols,
but the Lord made the heavens.(F)
Splendor and majesty are before him;
strength and beauty are in his sanctuary.(G)

Ascribe to the Lord, you families of the peoples,
ascribe to the Lord glory and strength.(H)
Ascribe to the Lord the glory of his name;(I)
bring an offering and enter his courts.(J)
Worship the Lord in the splendor of his holiness;(K)
let the whole earth tremble before him.(L)

10 Say among the nations, “The Lord reigns.(M)
The world is firmly established; it cannot be shaken.(N)
He judges the peoples fairly.”(O)
11 Let the heavens be glad and the earth rejoice;
let the sea and all that fills it resound.(P)
12 Let the fields and everything in them celebrate.
Then all the trees of the forest will shout for joy(Q)
13 before the Lord, for he is coming—
for he is coming to judge the earth.
He will judge the world with righteousness
and the peoples with his faithfulness.(R)

Zephaniah 3:8-13

Therefore, wait for me(A)
this is the Lord’s declaration—
until the day I rise up for plunder.[a]
For my decision is to gather nations,
to assemble kingdoms,
in order to pour out my indignation(B) on them,
all my burning anger;
for the whole earth will be consumed
by the fire of my jealousy.(C)

Final Restoration Promised

For I will then restore
pure(D) speech to the peoples
so that all of them may call
on the name of the Lord
and serve him with a single purpose.[b]
10 From beyond the rivers of Cush(E)
my supplicants, my dispersed people,
will bring an offering to me.
11 On that day you[c] will not be put to shame(F)
because of everything you have done
in rebelling(G) against me.
For then I will remove
from among you your jubilant,(H) arrogant people,
and you will never again be haughty
on my holy mountain.(I)
12 I will leave
a meek and humble people(J) among you,
and they will take refuge in the name of the Lord.
13 The remnant(K) of Israel will no longer
do wrong or tell lies;
a deceitful tongue will not be found
in their mouths.
They will pasture and lie down,
with nothing to make them afraid.(L)

Romans 10:5-13

since Moses writes about the righteousness that is from the law: The one who does these things will live by them.[a](A) But the righteousness that comes from faith(B) speaks like this: Do not say in your heart, “Who will go up to heaven?”[b](C) that is, to bring Christ down or, “Who will go down into the abyss?”[c](D) that is, to bring Christ up from the dead.(E) On the contrary, what does it say? The message is near you, in your mouth and in your heart.[d](F) This is the message of faith that we proclaim: If you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,”(G) and believe in your heart(H) that God raised him from the dead,(I) you will be saved. 10 One believes with the heart, resulting in righteousness, and one confesses with the mouth, resulting in salvation. 11 For the Scripture says, Everyone who believes on him will not be put to shame,[e](J) 12 since there is no distinction between Jew and Greek,(K) because the same Lord(L) of all(M) richly blesses all who call on him. 13 For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.[f](N)
