Psalm 83:1-4

O God, Do Not Be Quiet

A Song. A Psalm of Asaph.

83 O God, (A)do not remain at rest;
(B)Do not be silent and, O God, do not be quiet.
For behold, Your enemies (C)roar,
And (D)those who hate You have (E)lifted up their heads.
They (F)make shrewd plans against Your people,
And [a]conspire together against (G)Your [b]treasured ones.
They have said, “Come, and (H)let us wipe them out [c]as a nation,
That the (I)name of Israel be remembered no more.”

Psalm 83:13-18

13 O my God, make them like the [a](A)whirling dust,
Like (B)chaff before the wind.
14 Like (C)fire that burns the forest
And like a flame that (D)burns up the mountains,
15 So pursue them (E)with Your tempest
And dismay them with Your storm.
16 (F)Fill their faces with disgrace,
That they may seek Your name, O Yahweh.
17 Let them be (G)ashamed and dismayed forever,
And let them be humiliated and perish,
18 That they may (H)know that (I)You alone—Your name is Yahweh—
Are the (J)Most High over all the earth.

Exodus 5:1-6:13

Pharaoh Will Not Let the People Go

And afterward Moses and Aaron came and said to Pharaoh, “(A)Thus says Yahweh, the God of Israel, ‘(B)Let My people go that they may celebrate a feast to Me in the wilderness.’” But Pharaoh said, “(C)Who is Yahweh that I should listen to His voice to let Israel go? I do not know Yahweh, and also, (D)I will not let Israel go.” Then they said, “(E)The God of the Hebrews has met with us. Please, let us go a three days’ journey into the wilderness that we may sacrifice to Yahweh our God, lest He confront us with pestilence or with the sword.” But the king of Egypt said to them, “Moses and Aaron, why do you [a]draw the people away from their [b]work? Get back to your [c](F)hard labors!” And Pharaoh said, “Look, (G)the people of the land are now many, and you would have them cease from their hard labors!” So on that day Pharaoh commanded (H)the taskmasters over the people and their (I)foremen, saying, “You are no longer to give the people straw to make brick as previously; let them go and gather straw for themselves. But the quota of bricks which they were making previously, you shall set upon them; you are not to reduce any of it. Because they are (J)lazy, therefore they are crying out, ‘[d]Let us go and sacrifice to our God.’ Let their slavery be hard on the men, and let them work at it so that they will have no regard for false words.”

10 So (K)the taskmasters of the people and their foremen went out and spoke to the people, saying, “Thus says Pharaoh, ‘I am not going to give you any straw. 11 You go and get straw for yourselves wherever you can find it, but no amount of your slave labor will be reduced.’” 12 So the people scattered through all the land of Egypt to gather stubble for straw. 13 And the taskmasters were pressing them, saying, “Complete your [e]work quota, [f]the daily amount, just as when there was straw.” 14 Moreover, (L)the foremen of the sons of Israel, whom Pharaoh’s taskmasters had set over them, (M)were beaten [g]and were asked, “Why have you not completed your required amount either yesterday or today in making brick as previously?”

15 Then the foremen of the sons of Israel came and cried out to Pharaoh, saying, “Why do you deal this way with your slaves? 16 There is no straw given to your slaves, yet they keep saying to us, ‘Make bricks!’ And behold, your slaves are being beaten; but it is the [h]sin of your own people.” 17 But he said, “You are (N)lazy—lazy! Therefore you say, ‘Let us go and sacrifice to Yahweh.’ 18 So now, go and labor; but straw will not be given to you, yet you must deliver the quota of bricks.” 19 Then the foremen of the sons of Israel saw that they were in trouble [i]because they were told, “You must not reduce [j]your daily amount of bricks.” 20 When they left Pharaoh’s presence, they confronted Moses and Aaron, [k]standing there to meet them. 21 (O)And they said to them, “(P)May Yahweh look upon you and judge, for you have (Q)made [l]us a foul smell in Pharaoh’s sight and in the sight of his servants, to put a sword in their hand to kill us.”

22 Then Moses returned to Yahweh and said, “(R)O Lord, why have You brought harm to this people? Why did You ever send me? 23 Ever since I came to Pharaoh to speak in Your name, he has done harm to this people, (S)and You have not delivered Your people at all.”

Yahweh Remembers His Covenant

Then Yahweh said to Moses, “Now you shall see what I will do to Pharaoh; for (T)by a strong hand he will let them go, and by a strong hand he will drive them out of his land.”

God spoke further to Moses and said to him, “I am (U)Yahweh; and I appeared to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, as [m](V)God Almighty, but by (W)My name, Yahweh, I was not known to them. And I also established (X)My covenant with them, to give them the land of Canaan, the [n]land in which they sojourned. Furthermore I have (Y)heard the groaning of the sons of Israel because the Egyptians are holding them in slavery, and I have remembered My covenant. Say, therefore, to the sons of Israel, ‘(Z)I am Yahweh, and (AA)I will bring you out from under the hard labors of the Egyptians, and I will deliver you from their slavery. I will also (AB)redeem you with (AC)an outstretched arm and with great judgments. Then I will take you [o](AD)for My people, and (AE)I will be [p]your God; and (AF)you shall know that I am Yahweh your God, who brought you out from under the hard labors of the Egyptians. And I will bring you to the land which (AG)I [q]swore to give to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, and (AH)I will give it to you for a possession; (AI)I am Yahweh.’” So Moses spoke thus to the sons of Israel, but they did not listen to Moses on (AJ)account of their weakness of spirit and [r]hard slavery.

10 Now Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying, 11 (AK)Come, [s]tell Pharaoh king of Egypt [t]to let the sons of Israel go out of his land.” 12 But Moses spoke before Yahweh, saying, “Behold, the sons of Israel have not listened to me; (AL)how then will Pharaoh listen to me, for I am of (AM)uncircumcised lips?” 13 Then Yahweh spoke to Moses and to Aaron and gave them a command for the sons of Israel and for Pharaoh king of Egypt, to bring the sons of Israel out of the land of Egypt.

Revelation 3:7-13

To the Church in Philadelphia

“And to the angel of the church in (A)Philadelphia write:

(B)This is what He who is holy, (C)who is true, who has (D)the key of David, who opens and no one will shut, and who shuts and no one opens, says:

(E)I know your [a]deeds. Behold, I have given before you (F)an open door which no one can shut, because you have a little power, and have kept My word, and (G)have not denied My name. Behold, I am giving up those of (H)the synagogue of Satan, those who say that they are Jews and are not, but lie. Behold, I will make them (I)come and bow down before your feet, and make them know that (J)I have loved you. 10 Because you have (K)kept the word of (L)My perseverance, (M)I also will keep you from the hour of [b](N)testing, which is about to come upon the whole [c](O)world, to [d]test (P)those who dwell on the earth. 11 (Q)I am coming quickly; (R)hold fast what you have, so that no one will take your (S)crown. 12 (T)He who overcomes, I will make him a (U)pillar in the sanctuary of My God, and he will never go out from it anymore. And I will write on him the (V)name of My God, and (W)the name of the city of My God, (X)the new Jerusalem, which comes down out of heaven from My God, and My (Y)new name. 13 (Z)He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.’
