New Catholic Bible (NCB)
Version
Psalm 146:5-10

[a]Blessed is he whose help is the God of Jacob,[b]
whose hope is in the Lord, his God,
the Maker of heaven and earth,[c]
the sea, and everything in them—
the one who keeps faith forever.
He grants justice to the oppressed[d]
and gives bread to the hungry.
The Lord releases prisoners
and opens the eyes of those who cannot see.[e]
The Lord lifts up those who are bowed down;
    the Lord loves the righteous.
The Lord watches over the stranger
and sustains the fatherless and the widow,[f]
but he blocks the way of the wicked.
10 The Lord will reign forever,[g]
your God, O Zion, for all generations.
Alleluia.

Ruth 4:13-17

13 So Boaz took Ruth and she became his wife. He slept with her, and the Lord granted that she conceive, and she bore a son. 14 The women said to Naomi, “Blessed be the Lord, who has not left you without a next of kin; may his name be famous throughout Israel.[a] 15 He will renew your life and support you in your old age. Your daughter-in-law, who loves you and who is worth more than seven sons to you, has borne him.”

16 Naomi then took the child and laid him in her lap. She became his nurse. 17 The neighbor women gave him a name, saying, “A son is born to Naomi.” They called him Obed.[b] He was the father of Jesse, the father of David.

2 Peter 3:11-18

11 Wait for and Speed the Day of God.[a] Since everything is to be destroyed in this way, consider what sort of people you ought to be, living holy and saintly lives. 12 Wait for and speed the coming of the Day of God,[b] on which the heavens will be set ablaze and all the elements will melt because of the intense heat. 13 We eagerly await the promised new heavens and a new earth[c] in which righteousness dwells.

14 Therefore, beloved, in expectation of all this, do everything possible to lead blameless lives that are above reproach so that he will find you at peace. 15 Think of our Lord’s patience as your opportunity to be saved;[d] our beloved brother Paul told you this when he wrote to you with the wisdom that was given to him, 16 speaking of it[e] in all his letters. In them, there are some things that are difficult to understand, which the ignorant and the unstable distort in the same way that they distort the other Scriptures, to their own destruction.

Conclusion

17 Guard against Error and Grow in Grace. Therefore, beloved, you have been forewarned about this. Take care that you are not led astray by the errors of unprincipled people and thus lose your secure position. 18 Rather, grow in the grace and the knowledge[f] of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Doxology. To him be glory both now and for all eternity. Amen.
