⁷ For thus saith Jehovah: Sing aloud [with] gladness for Jacob, and shout at the head of the nations; publish ye, praise ye, and say, Jehovah, save thy people, the remnant of Israel.

⁸ Behold, I bring them from the north country, and gather them from the uttermost parts of the earth; [and] among them the blind and the lame, the woman with child and her that travaileth with child together: a great assemblage shall they return hither.

⁹ They shall come with weeping, and with supplications will I lead them; I will cause them to walk by water-brooks, in a straight way, wherein they shall not stumble; for I will be a father to Israel, and Ephraim is my firstborn.

¹⁰ Hear the word of Jehovah, ye nations, and declare [it] to the isles afar off, and say, He that scattered Israel will gather him, and keep him, as a shepherd his flock.

¹¹ For Jehovah hath ransomed Jacob, and redeemed him from the hand of one stronger than he.

¹² And they shall come and sing aloud upon the height of Zion, and shall flow together to the goodness of Jehovah, for corn, and for new wine, and for oil, and for the young of the flock and of the herd; and their soul shall be as a watered garden, and they shall not languish any more at all.

¹³ Then shall the virgin rejoice in the dance, and the young men and old together; for I will turn their mourning into gladness, and will comfort them, and make them rejoice after their sorrow.

¹⁴ And I will satiate the soul of the priests with fatness, and my people shall be satisfied with my goodness, saith Jehovah.

¹² Laud Jehovah, O Jerusalem; praise thy God, O Zion.

¹³ For he hath strengthened the bars of thy gates; he hath blessed thy children within thee;

¹⁴ He maketh peace in thy borders; he satisfieth thee with the finest of the wheat.

¹⁵ He sendeth forth his oracles to the earth: his word runneth very swiftly.

¹⁶ He giveth snow like wool, scattereth the hoar frost like ashes;

¹⁷ He casteth forth his ice like morsels: who can stand before his cold?

¹⁸ He sendeth his word, and melteth them; he causeth his wind to blow—the waters flow.

¹⁹ He sheweth his word unto Jacob, his statutes and his judgments unto Israel.

²⁰ He hath not dealt thus with any nation; and as for [his] judgments, they have not known them. Hallelujah!

³ Blessed [be] the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenlies in Christ;

⁴ according as he has chosen us in him before [the] world's foundation, that we should be holy and blameless before him in love;

⁵ having marked us out beforehand for adoption through Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,

⁶ to [the] praise of [the] glory of his grace, wherein he has taken us into favour in the Beloved:

⁷ in whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of offences, according to the riches of his grace;

⁸ which he has caused to abound towards us in all wisdom and intelligence,

⁹ having made known to us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he purposed in himself

¹⁰ for [the] administration of the fulness of times; to head up all things in the Christ, the things in the heavens and the things upon the earth; in him,

¹¹ in whom we have also obtained an inheritance, being marked out beforehand according to the purpose of him who works all things according to the counsel of his own will,

¹² that we should be to [the] praise of his glory who have pre-trusted in the Christ:

¹³ in whom *ye* also [have trusted], having heard the word of the truth, the glad tidings of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, ye have been sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise,

¹⁴ who is [the] earnest of our inheritance to the redemption of the acquired possession to [the] praise of his glory.

1 In [the] beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

² *He* was in the beginning with God.

³ All things received being through him, and without him not one [thing] received being which has received being.

⁴ In him was life, and the life was the light of men.

⁵ And the light appears in darkness, and the darkness apprehended it not.

⁶ There was a man sent from God, his name John.

⁷ He came for witness, that he might witness concerning the light, that all might believe through him.

⁸ *He* was not the light, but that he might witness concerning the light.

⁹ The true light was that which, coming into the world, lightens every man.

¹⁰ He was in the world, and the world had [its] being through him, and the world knew him not.

¹¹ He came to his own, and his own received him not;

¹² but as many as received him, to them gave he [the] right to be children of God, to those that believe on his name;

¹³ who have been born, not of blood, nor of flesh's will, nor of man's will, but of God.

¹⁴ And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us (and we have contemplated his glory, a glory as of an only-begotten with a father), full of grace and truth;

¹⁵ (John bears witness of him, and he has cried, saying, This was he of whom I said, He that comes after me is preferred before me, for he was before me;)

¹⁶ for of his fulness we all have received, and grace upon grace.

¹⁷ For the law was given by Moses: grace and truth subsists through Jesus Christ.

¹⁸ No one has seen God at any time; the only-begotten Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, *he* hath declared [him].
