Version
Exodus 20:1-4

20 ¶ And God spoke all these words, saying,

I am the LORD thy God, who brought thee out of the land of Egypt out of the house of slavery.

Thou shalt have no other gods before me.

Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above or that is in the earth beneath nor that is in the water under the earth.

Exodus 20:7-9

Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain for the LORD will not hold guiltless anyone that takes his name in vain.

Thou shalt remember the sabbath day, to sanctify it.

Six days shalt thou labour and do all thy work;

Exodus 20:12-20

12 ¶ Honour thy father and thy mother that thy days may be lengthened upon the land which the LORD thy God gives thee.

13 Thou shalt not murder.

14 Thou shalt not commit adultery.

15 Thou shalt not steal.

16 Thou shalt not give false testimony against thy neighbour.

17 Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour’s house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour’s wife, nor his manslave, nor his maidslave, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbour’s.

18 ¶ And all the people saw the thunderings and the lightnings and the noise of the trumpet and the mountain smoking; and when the people saw it, they trembled and stood afar off.

19 And they said unto Moses, Speak thou with us, and we will hear; but let not God speak with us lest we die.

20 Then Moses said unto the people, Fear not, for God is come to prove you and that his fear may be before your faces, that ye sin not.

Psalm 19

To the Overcomer, A Psalm of David.

¶ The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament shows the work of his hands.

One day provides a word for the next day, and one night declares wisdom unto the next night.

There is no speech nor language, where their voice is not heard.

Their line is gone out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. In them he has set a tabernacle for the sun,

which is as a bridegroom coming out of his chamber and rejoices as a strong man to run a race.

His going forth is from the end of the heavens, and his circuit unto the ends of it: and there is nothing hid from the heat thereof.

¶ The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul; the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple.

The statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart; the commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes.

The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring for ever; the rights of the LORD are true, they are all just.

10 More to be desired are they than gold, than much fine gold; sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.

11 Moreover by them is thy slave warned, and in keeping them there is great reward.

12 Who can understand his errors? cleanse thou me from secret faults.

13 Keep back thy slave also from pride and arrogance; let them not have dominion over me; then I shall be perfect, and I shall be innocent of the great rebellion.

14 Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer.

Philippians 3:4-14

¶ Though I might also have reason to confide in the flesh. If any other man thinks that he has whereof he might trust in the flesh, I more:

Circumcised the eighth day, of the lineage of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, a Hebrew of Hebrews; concerning the law, a Pharisee;

concerning zeal, a persecutor of the congregation; {Gr. ekklesia – called out ones} concerning the righteousness which is in the law, blameless.

But those things which were gain to me, I counted loss for Christ.

And doubtless I even count all things as loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ

¶ and be found in him, not having my own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith:

10 That I may know him and the power of his resurrection and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death,

11 if by any means I might attain unto the resurrection of the dead.

12 Not as though I had already attained it, either were already perfect, but I follow after, if I may lay hold of that for which I have also been laid hold of by the Christ, Jesus.

13 Brethren, I do not reckon to have laid hold of it yet, but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and extending myself unto those things which are ahead,

14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

Matthew 21:33-46

33 ¶ Hear another parable: There was a certain husband of a house who planted a vineyard and hedged it round about and dug a winepress in it and built a tower and let it out to husbandmen and went into a far country,

34 and when the time of the fruit drew near, he sent his slaves to the husbandmen that they might receive the fruits of it.

35 And the husbandmen took his slaves and beat one and killed another and stoned another.

36 Again, he sent other slaves more than the first, and they did unto them likewise.

37 But last of all he sent unto them his son, saying, They will reverence my son.

38 But when the husbandmen saw the son, they said among themselves, This is the heir; come, let us kill him, and let us take his inheritance.

39 And they took hold of him and cast him out of the vineyard and slew him.

40 Therefore, when the lord of the vineyard comes, what will he do unto those husbandmen?

41 They say unto him, He will destroy those wicked men without mercy and will let out his vineyard unto other husbandmen who shall render him the fruits in their seasons.

42 Jesus said unto them, Did ye never read in the scriptures, The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner: this is the Lord’s doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes?

43 Therefore say I unto you, The kingdom of God shall be taken from you and given to a people bringing forth the fruits thereof.

44 And whosoever shall fall on this stone shall be broken, but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder.

45 And as the princes of the priests and Pharisees heard his parables, they perceived that he spoke of them.

46 But when they sought to lay hands on him, they feared the multitude because they held him as a prophet.
