Psalm 105:1-6

Psalm 105

O give thanks unto the Lord, call upon His name, make known His doings among the peoples!

Sing to Him, sing praises to Him; meditate on and talk of all His marvelous deeds and devoutly praise them.

Glory in His holy name; let the hearts of those rejoice who seek and require the Lord [as their indispensable necessity].

Seek, inquire of and for the Lord, and crave Him and His strength (His might and inflexibility to temptation); seek and require His face and His presence [continually] evermore.

[Earnestly] remember the marvelous deeds that He has done, His miracles and wonders, the judgments and sentences which He pronounced [upon His enemies, as in Egypt].(A)

O you offspring of Abraham His servant, you children of Jacob, His chosen ones,

Psalm 105:37-45

37 He brought [Israel] forth also with silver and gold, and there was not one feeble person among their tribes.(A)

38 Egypt was glad when they departed, for the fear of them had fallen upon the people.(B)

39 The Lord spread a cloud for a covering [by day], and a fire to give light in the night.(C)

40 [The Israelites] asked, and He brought quails and satisfied them with the bread of heaven.(D)

41 He opened the rock, and water gushed out; it ran in the dry places like a river.(E)

42 For He [earnestly] remembered His holy word and promise to Abraham His servant.(F)

43 And He brought forth His people with joy, and His chosen ones with gladness and singing,

44 And gave them the lands of the nations [of Canaan], and they reaped the fruits of those peoples’ labor,(G)

45 That they might observe His statutes and keep His laws [hearing, receiving, loving, and obeying them]. Praise the Lord! (Hallelujah!)

Exodus 16:22-30

22 And on the sixth day they gathered twice as much bread, two omers for each person; and all the leaders of the congregation came and told Moses.

23 He said to them, The Lord has said, Tomorrow is a solemn rest, a holy Sabbath to the Lord; bake and boil what you will bake and boil today; and all that remains over put aside for you to keep until morning.

24 They laid it aside till morning, as Moses told them; and it did not become foul, neither was it wormy.

25 Moses said, Eat that today, for today is a Sabbath to the Lord. Today you shall find none in the field.

26 Six days you shall gather it, but on the seventh day, the Sabbath, there shall be none.

27 On the seventh day some of the people went out to gather, but they found none.

28 The Lord said to Moses, How long do you [people] refuse to keep My commandments and My laws?

29 See, the Lord has given you the Sabbath; therefore He gives you on the sixth day the bread for two days; let every man remain in his place; let no man leave his place on the seventh day.

30 So the people rested on the seventh day.

Matthew 19:23-30

23 And Jesus said to His disciples, Truly I say to you, it will be difficult for a rich man to get into the kingdom of heaven.

24 Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to go into the kingdom of heaven.

25 When the disciples heard this, they were utterly puzzled (astonished, bewildered), saying, Who then can be saved [[a]from eternal death]?

26 But Jesus looked at them and said, With men this is impossible, but all things are possible with God.(A)

27 Then Peter answered Him, saying, Behold, we have left [our] all and have become [b]Your disciples [sided with Your party and followed You]. What then shall we receive?

28 Jesus said to them, Truly I say to you, in the new age [the [c]Messianic rebirth of the world], when the Son of Man shall sit down on the throne of His glory, you who have [become My disciples, sided with My party and] followed Me will also sit on twelve thrones and judge the twelve tribes of Israel.

29 And anyone and everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or children or lands for My name’s sake will receive [d]many [even a hundred] times more and will inherit eternal life.

30 But many who [now] are first will be last [then], and many who [now] are last will be first [then].
