Revised Common Lectionary (Semicontinuous)
12 A thanksgiving of the faithful for the mercies of God.
1 And thou [a]shalt say in that day, O Lord, I will praise thee: though thou wast angry with me, thy wrath is turned away, and thou comfortest me.
2 Behold, God is my [b]salvation: I will trust, and will not fear: for the Lord God is (A)my strength and song: he is also become my salvation.
3 Therefore with joy shall ye [c]draw waters out of the wells of salvation.
4 And ye shall say in that day, (B)Praise the Lord: call upon his Name: declare his works among the people: make mention of them, for his Name is exalted.
5 Sing unto the Lord, for he hath done excellent things: this is known in all the world.
6 Cry out, and shout, [d]O inhabitant of Zion: for great is the Holy one of Israel in the midst of thee.
14 [a]And he shall say, Cast up, cast up: prepare the way: take up the stumbling blocks out of the way of my people.
15 For thus saith he that is high and excellent, he that inhabiteth the eternity, whose Name is the Holy one, I dwell in the high and holy place: with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit to revive the spirit of the humble, and to give life to them that are of a contrite heart.
16 For I will not contend forever: neither will I be always wroth, [b]for the spirit should fail before me: and I have made the breath.
17 For his [c]wicked covetousness I am angry with him, and have smitten him: I hid me, and was angry, yet he went away, and turned after the way of his own heart.
18 I have seen his ways, and will [d]heal him: I will lead him also, and restore comfort unto him, and to those that lament him.
19 I create the [e]fruit of the lips, to be peace: peace unto them that are [f]far off, and to them that are near, saith the Lord: for I will heal him.
20 But the wicked are like the raging sea, that [g]cannot rest, whose waters cast up mire and dirt.
21 There is no peace, saith my God, to the wicked.
18 [a]For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against [b]all ungodliness, and unrighteousness of men, which withhold the [c]truth in unrighteousness.
19 [d]Forasmuch as that, which may be known of God, is manifest in [e]them, for God hath showed it unto them.
20 For the invisible things of him, that is, his eternal power and Godhead, are seen by the creation of the world, being [f]considered in his works, to the intent that they should be without excuse:
21 Because that when they knew God, they [g]glorified him not as God, neither were thankful, but became [h]vain in their thoughts, and their foolish heart was full of darkness.
22 When they [i]professed themselves to be wise, they became fools.
23 For they turned the glory of the [j]incorruptible God to the similitude of the image of a corruptible man, and of birds, and four footed beasts, and of creeping things.
24 [k]Wherefore [l]also God [m]gave them up to their hearts lusts, unto uncleanness, to defile their own bodies between themselves:
25 Which turned the truth of God unto a lie, and worshipped and served the creature, forsaking the Creator which is blessed forever, Amen.
