Isaiah 62:1-5

The Vindication of Jerusalem

62 “And[a] I won’t remain silent,[b]
    and for Jerusalem’s sake I won’t stay quiet,
until her vindication shines out like brightness,
    and her salvation like a burning torch.
The nations will see your vindication,
    and all the kings your glory;
and people will call you[c] by a new name
    that the mouth of the Lord will bestow.
You will be a crown of splendor in the Lord’s hand,
    and a royal diadem in the hand of your God.
And[d] you’ll no longer be called ‘Deserted,’
    and your land will no longer be called ‘Desolate’;
but people will call you[e] ‘Hephzibah,’[f]
    and your land ‘Beulah’[g]
for the Lord will take delight in you,
    and your land will be married.”

“For just as[h] a young man marries a maiden,
    so your sons will marry you;
and just as a bridegroom rejoices over his bride,
    so your God will rejoice over you.

Psalm 36:5-10

Praise to the Lord

Your gracious love, Lord, reaches to the heavens;
    your truth[a] extends to the skies.[b]
Your righteousness is like the mountains of God;
    your justice is like the great depths of the sea.[c]
        You deliver both[d] people and animals, Lord.
How precious is your gracious love, God!
    The children of men take refuge in the shadow of your wings.
They are refreshed from the abundance of your house;
    You cause them to drink from the river of your pleasures.
For with you is a fountain of life,
    and in your light we will see light.

10 Send forth your gracious love to those who know you,
    and your righteousness to those who are upright in heart.

1 Corinthians 12:1-11

Concerning Spiritual Gifts

12 Now concerning spiritual gifts, brothers, I don’t want you to be ignorant. You know that when you were unbelievers,[a] you were enticed and led astray to worship[b] idols that couldn’t even speak. For this reason I want you to be aware that no one who is speaking by God’s Spirit can say, “Jesus is cursed,” and no one can say, “Jesus is Lord,” except by the Holy Spirit.

Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit, and there are varieties of ministries, but the same Lord. There are varieties of results, but it is the same God who produces all the results in everyone.

To each person has been given the ability to manifest the Spirit for the common good. To one has been given a message of wisdom by the Spirit; to another the ability to speak with knowledge according to the same Spirit; to another faith by the same Spirit; to another gifts of healing by that one Spirit; 10 to another miraculous results; to another prophecy; to another the ability to distinguish between spirits; to another various kinds of languages; and to another the interpretation of languages. 11 But one and the same Spirit produces all these results and gives what he wants to each person.

John 2:1-11

Jesus Changes Water into Wine

On the third day of that week[a] there was a wedding in Cana of Galilee. Jesus’ mother was there, and Jesus and his disciples had also been invited to the wedding. When the wine ran out, Jesus’ mother told him, “They don’t have any more wine.”

“How does that concern us, dear lady?”[b] Jesus asked her. “My time hasn’t come yet.”

His mother told the servants, “Do whatever he tells you.”

Now standing there were six stone water jars used for the Jewish rites of purification, each one holding from two to three measures.[c] Jesus told the servants,[d] “Fill the jars with water.” So they filled them up to the brim. Then he told them, “Now draw some out and take it to the man in charge of the banquet.” So they did.

When the man in charge of the banquet tasted the water that had become wine (without knowing where it had come from, though the servants who had drawn the water knew), he[e] called for the bridegroom 10 and told him, “Everyone serves the best wine first, and the cheap kind when people[f] are drunk. But you have kept the best wine until now!” 11 Jesus did this, the first[g] of his signs, in Cana of Galilee. He revealed his glory, and his disciples believed in him.
