Revised Common Lectionary (Semicontinuous)
46 [a]Then Mary said, My soul magnifieth the Lord,
47 And my spirit rejoiceth in God my Savior.
48 For he hath [b]looked on the [c]poor degree of his servant: for behold, from henceforth shall all ages call me blessed,
49 Because he that is mighty hath done for me great things, and holy is his Name.
50 And his mercy is from generation to generation on them [d]that fear him.
51 (A)He that showed strength with his [e]arm: (B)he hath [f]scattered the proud in the [g]imagination of their hearts.
52 (C)He hath [h]put down the mighty from their seats, and exalted them of [i]low degree.
53 (D)He hath filled the [j]hungry with good things, and sent away the rich empty.
54 [k](E)He hath upholden Israel his servant to be mindful of his mercy,
55 ((F)As he hath [l]spoken to our fathers, to wit, to Abraham and his seed) forever.
6 At the same day saith the Lord, will I gather her that halteth, and I will gather her that is cast out, and her that I have afflicted.
7 And I will make her that halteth, [a]a remnant, and her that was cast far off, a mighty nation, and the Lord shall reign over them in Mount Zion, from henceforth even forever.
8 And thou, O [b]tower of the flock, the stronghold of the daughter Zion, unto thee shall it come, even [c]the first dominion, and kingdom shall come to the daughter Jerusalem.
16 (A)[a]For we followed not deceivable fables, when we opened unto you the power, and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but with our eyes we saw his majesty:
17 For he received of God the Father honor and glory, when there came such a voice to him from that excellent Glory, (B)This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.
18 And this voice we heard when it came from heaven being with him in the holy mount.
19 [b]We have also a most sure word of the Prophets, [c]to the which ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the [d]day dawns, and the [e]day star arise in your hearts.
20 (C)[f]So that ye first know this, that no prophecy of the [g]Scripture is of any [h]private interpretation:
21 For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but [i]holy men of God spake as they were [j]moved by the holy Ghost.
