Version
Psalm 37:12-22

12 The wicked practices against the just and gnashes his teeth against him.

13 The LORD shall laugh him to scorn; for He sees that his day is coming.

14 The wicked have drawn their sword and have bent their bow, to cast down the poor and needy and to slay such as are of upright conversation.

15 Their sword shall enter into their own heart; and their bows shall be broken.

16 A small thing to the just man is better than great riches to the wicked and mighty.

17 For the arms of the wicked shall be broken; but the LORD upholds the just men.

18 The LORD knows the days of upright men; and their inheritance shall be perpetual.

19 They shall not be confounded in the perilous time; and in the days of famine they shall have enough.

20 But the wicked shall perish; and the enemies of the LORD shall be consumed as the fat of lambs. With the smoke, they shall vanish away.

21 The wicked borrows and does not pay again. But the righteous is merciful and gives.

22 For such as are blessed shall inherit the land. And those who are cursed by Him shall be cut off.

2 Samuel 11:22-27

22 So the messenger went and came and told David all that Joab had sent him to tell.

23 And the messenger said to David, “Certainly the men prevailed against us, and came out to us into the field. But we pursued them to the entrance of the gate.

24 “But the shooters shot against your servants from the wall. And some of the king’s servants are dead. And your servant, Uriah the Hittite, is also dead.”

25 Then David said to the messenger, “Thus shall you say to Joab, ‘Do not let this thing trouble you. For the sword devours one as well as another. Make your attack against the city stronger, and destroy it,’ and encourage him.”

26 And when the wife of Uriah heard that her husband Uriah was dead, she mourned for her husband.

27 So, when the mourning had passed, David sent and took her into his house. And she became his wife and bore him a son. But the thing that David had done displeased the LORD.

Romans 15:22-33

22 For this reason, also, I have often been hindered in coming to you.

23 But now, seeing I no longer have a place in these regions, and have longed to come to you for many years,

24 I will come to you when I take my journey into Spain. For I hope to see you on my journey, and to be brought on my way there by you, after I have first enjoyed your company for a while.

25 But now I go to Jerusalem, to minister to the Saints.

26 For it has pleased them of Macedonia and Achaia to make a certain contribution to the poor Saints who are at Jerusalem.

27 It has pleased them. And indeed, they are their debtors. For if the Gentiles have been partakers of their spiritual things, their duty is to minister to them also, in material things.

28 Therefore, once I have performed this, and have sealed their fruit, I will pass by you into Spain.

29 And I know when I come, that I shall come to you with abundance of the blessing of the Gospel of Christ.

30 Also brothers, I beg you for our Lord Jesus Christ’s sake, and for the love of the Spirit, that you would strive with me by prayers to God for me,

31 that I may be delivered from those who are disobedient in Judea; and that my service which I have to do at Jerusalem may be accepted by the Saints.

32 So that I may come to you with joy, by the will of God, and may be refreshed with you.

33 Now, the God of peace be with you all. Amen.
