Psalm 18:1-6

18 I will love You dearly, O LORD, my strength.

The LORD is my rock and my fortress; and He Who delivers me, my God and my strength. In Him will I trust. My shield. The horn, also, of my salvation. My refuge.

I will call upon the LORD, Who is worthy to be praised. So shall I be safe from my enemies.

The sorrows of death surrounded me. And the floods of wickedness made me afraid.

The sorrows of the grave have surrounded me. The snares of death overtook me.

But in my trouble, I called upon the LORD, and cried to my God. He heard my voice out of His Temple. And my cry came before Him, into His ears.

Psalm 18:43-50

43 You have delivered me from the contentions of the people. You have made me the head of the heathen. A people I have not known shall serve me.

44 As soon as they hear, they shall obey me. The strangers shall be in subjection to me.

45 Strangers shall shrink away, and fear in their borders.

46 Let the LORD live and blessed be my strength. And the God of my salvation be exalted.

47 It is God Who avenges me and subdues the people under me.

48 O, my Deliverer from my enemies, You have lifted me up from those who rose against me! You have delivered me from the cruel man.

49 Therefore, I will praise You among the nations, O LORD, and will sing to Your Name.

50 He gives great deliverances to His king and shows mercy to His anointed; to David, and to his seed, forever. To him who excels: A Psalm of David.

1 Samuel 23:14-18

14 And David stayed in the wilderness, in the strongholds, and remained on a mountain in the wilderness of Ziph. And Saul sought him every day; but God did not deliver him into his hand.

15 And David saw that Saul had come out to seek his life. And David was in the wilderness of Ziph, in the forest.

16 And Jonathan, Saul’s son, arose and went to David, into the forest, and comforted him in God,

17 and said to him, “Do not fear. For the hand of Saul, my father, shall not find you. And you shall be king over Israel. And I shall be next to you. And also, Saul, my father, knows it.”

18 So the two of them made a covenant before the LORD. And David remained in the forest; but Jonathan went to his house.

2 Corinthians 8:16-24

16 And thanks be to God, Who had put in the heart of Titus the same care for you.

17 Because he accepted the exhortation. Yea, he was so careful, that of his own accord he went to you.

18 And we have also sent with him the brother, whose praise is in the Gospel throughout all the Churches.

19 And not only so but was also chosen by the churches to be a fellow traveler concerning this grace that is ministered by us, to the glory of the same Lord, and the declaration of your eager mind.

20 And so avoiding this: that no one should blame us in this abundance that is ministered by us,

21 providing for honest things, not only before the Lord, but also before man.

22 And we have sent with them our brother, whom we have often proved to be diligent in many things, but who is now much more diligent because of the great confidence in you.

23 And if anyone asks about Titus, he is my partner and helper concerning you; or of our brothers, they are messengers of the churches, and the glory of Christ.

24 Therefore, show toward them, and before the churches, the proof of your love, and of the rejoicing that we have on your behalf.
