Jonah 3:1-5

Nineveh Repents

Now the word of the Lord came to Jonah the second time, saying, “Arise, go to (A)Nineveh, the great city, and (B)proclaim to it the proclamation which I am going to tell you.” So Jonah got up and went to Nineveh according to the word of the Lord. Now Nineveh was [a]an (C)exceedingly large city, a three days’ walk. Then Jonah began to go through the city one day’s walk; and he (D)cried out and said, “Forty more days, and Nineveh will be overthrown.”

Then the people of Nineveh believed in God; and they called a (E)fast and put on sackcloth, from the greatest to the least of them.

Jonah 3:10

10 When God saw their deeds, that they (A)turned from their evil way, then (B)God relented of the disaster which He had declared He would [a]bring on them. So He did not do it.

Psalm 62:5-12

My soul, (A)wait in silence for God alone,
For my hope is from Him.
He alone is (B)my rock and my salvation,
My refuge; I will not be shaken.
My (C)salvation and my glory rest on God;
The rock of my strength, my (D)refuge is in God.
(E)Trust in Him at all times, you people;
(F)Pour out your hearts before Him;
God is a refuge for us. Selah

People of (G)low standing are only (H)breath, and people of rank are a (I)lie;
In the (J)balances they go up.
Together they are lighter than breath.
10 (K)Do not trust in oppression,
And do not vainly rely on (L)robbery;
If wealth increases, (M)do not set your heart on it.

11 God has (N)spoken [a]once;
[b]Twice I have heard this:
That (O)power belongs to God;
12 And faithfulness (P)is Yours, Lord,
For You (Q)reward a person according to his work.

1 Corinthians 7:29-31

29 But this I say, brothers, (A)the time has been shortened, so that from now on those who have wives should be as though they had none; 30 and those who weep, as though they did not weep; and those who rejoice, as though they did not rejoice; and those who buy, as though they did not possess; 31 and those who use the world, as though they did not (B)make full use of it; for (C)the present form of this world is passing away.

Mark 1:14-20

Jesus Preaches in Galilee

14 (A)Now after John was [a]taken into custody, Jesus came into Galilee, [b](B)preaching the gospel of God, 15 and saying, (C)The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God has come near; (D)repent and [c]believe in the gospel.”

16 (E)As He was going along the Sea of Galilee, He saw Simon and Andrew, the brother of Simon, casting a net in the sea; for they were fishermen. 17 And Jesus said to them, “Follow Me, and I will have you become fishers of people.” 18 Immediately they left their nets and followed Him. 19 And going on a little farther, He saw [d]James the son of Zebedee, and his brother John, [e]who were also in the boat mending the nets. 20 Immediately He called them; and they left their father Zebedee in the boat with the hired men, and went away [f]to follow Him.
