Psalm 119:57-64

CHETH

57 O LORD, Who are my portion, I have determined to keep Your Words.

58 I made my supplication in Your presence with my whole heart. Be merciful to me according to Your Promise.

59 I have considered my ways and turned my feet to Your Testimonies.

60 I moved quickly and did not delay in keeping Your Commandments.

61 Bands of the wicked have robbed me, but I have not forgotten Your Law.

62 At midnight will I rise and give thanks to You because of Your righteous Judgments.

63 I am companion of all those who fear You and keep Your Precepts.

64 O LORD, the Earth is full of Your mercy, teach me Your Statutes.

Proverbs 25:11-22

11 A timely word spoken is like apples of gold in settings of silver.

12 He who rebukes the wise and obedient ear, is as a golden earring and an ornament of fine gold.

13 As the cold of the snow at harvest time is a faithful messenger to those who send him. For he refreshes the soul of his masters.

14 A man who falsely boasts of giving is like clouds and wind without rain.

15 A prince is pacified by forbearance, and a soft tongue breaks the bones.

16 If you have found honey, eat what is sufficient for you, lest you be glutted and vomit it.

17 Withdraw your foot from your neighbor’s house, lest he be weary of you and hate you.

18 A man who bears false witness against his neighbor is like a hammer and a sword and a sharp arrow.

19 Confidence in an unfaithful man in time of trouble is like a broken tooth and a disjointed foot.

20 He who takes away a garment in the cold is like pouring vinegar on soda, or like him who sings songs to a heavy heart.

21 If he who hates you is hungry, give him bread to eat. And if he is thirsty, give him water to drink.

22 For you shall lay coals upon his head. And the LORD shall repay you.

Romans 12:9-21

love without hypocrisy. Abhor that which is evil, and cling to that which is good.

10 Be kindly affectionate toward one another with brotherly love. Lead one another toward honor,

11 not slothful to do service, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord,

12 rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation, continuing in prayer,

13 distributing to the needs of the saints, giving yourselves to the loving of strangers.

14 Bless those who persecute you; bless, I say, and do not curse.

15 Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep.

16 Be like-minded toward one another. Do not be high-minded; but align yourselves with the humble. Do not be wise in your own eyes.

17 Repay no one evil for evil. Provide honorably in the sight of all mankind.

18 If it is possible, as much as you can, be at peace with all mankind.

19 Dearly beloved, do not avenge yourselves; but give Wrath its opportunity. For it is written, “Vengeance is Mine. I will repay”, says the Lord.

20 Therefore, “If your enemy is hungry, feed him. If he thirsts, give him drink. For in so doing, you shall heap coals of fire on his head.”

21 Be not overcome by evil. But, overcome evil with good.
