Psalm 119:33-40

HE

33 Teach me, O LORD, the way of Your Statutes, and I will keep it to the end.

34 Give me understanding and I will keep Your Law, yea, I will keep it with my whole heart.

35 Direct me in the path of Your Commandments, for therein is my delight.

36 Incline my heart to Your Testimonies, and not to covetousness.

37 Turn away my eyes from vanity and quicken me in Your way.

38 Establish Your Promise in Your servant, because he fears You.

39 Take away my rebuke, which I fear, for Your Judgments are good.

40 Behold, I desire Your Commandments, quicken me in Your righteousness.

Exodus 22:21-27

21 “Moreover, you shall not do injury to a stranger, nor oppress him. For you were both strangers in the land of Egypt.

22 “You shall not trouble any widow or fatherless child.

23 “If you afflict or trouble such, so that he calls and cries to Me, I will surely hear his cry.

24 “Then, My wrath be shall kindled; and I will kill you with the sword. And your wives shall be widows, and your children fatherless.

25 “If you lend money to My people who are poor among you, you shall not be as a moneylender to him. You shall not oppress him with usury.

26 “If you take your neighbor’s clothing as a pledge, you shall restore it to him before the Sun goes down.

27 “For that is his only covering. It is his garment for his skin. In what shall he sleep? Therefore, when he cries to Me, I will hear him. For I am merciful.

1 Corinthians 10:23-11:1

23 All things are lawful for me, but all things are not profitable. All things are lawful for me, but all things do not edify.

24 Let no one seek his own, but everyone another’s wealth.

25 Whatever is sold in the meat market, eat, and ask no question for conscience’ sake.

26 For the Earth is the Lord’s, and all that therein is.

27 If any unbelievers call you to a feast, and you are willing to go, whatever is set before you, eat, asking no question for conscience’ sake.

28 But if anyone says to you, ‘This is sacrificed to idols’, do not eat it, because of him who showed it, and for conscience’ sake (for the Earth is the Lord’s, and all that therein is),

29 and the conscience, I say, not of your own, but of the other. For why should my freedom be judged by another man’s conscience?

30 For if I, with gratitude, be a partaker, why am I maligned for that which I give thanks?

31 Therefore, whether you eat, or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.

32 Give no offense, neither to the Jews, nor to the Greeks, nor to the Church of God.

33 Just as I please all mankind in all things, not seeking my own profit, but the profit of many, that they might be saved.

11 Be followers of me, just as I am of Christ.
