Revised Common Lectionary (Semicontinuous)
33 [a]Teach me, O Lord, the way of your decrees,
and I will follow it to the end.[b]
34 Give me understanding, and I will observe your law
and obey it with all my heart.[c]
35 Guide me in the way of your precepts,
for in them is my delight.
36 Dispose my heart to follow your statutes
and to flee selfish gain.
37 Turn my eyes away from what is unimportant,
and let me live in your way.
38 Fulfill your word to your servant,
so that you may be feared.[d]
39 Let me escape the disgrace that I dread,
for your judgments are good.
40 See, I long for your commandments;
in your righteousness preserve my life.

Chapter 6
Daily Sacrifices.[a] 1 The Lord said to Moses, 2 “If anyone sins against the Lord by lying to a neighbor concerning a deposit or a security entrusted to him, or by robbery, or by defrauding a neighbor, 3 or by finding something that was lost and lying about it and swearing a false oath, in any of these things that men do, and thereby sin, 4 when someone sins this way and has become guilty, he shall restore the stolen property that he took, or what he obtained through violence, or the deposit that was entrusted to him, or the lost object that he found, 5 or anything about which he falsely swore an oath. He shall add a fifth to it and give it to the person to whom it belongs on the day of his guilt offering. 6 He shall bring a guilt offering to the priest, a ram without defect from the flock which is the value of the price of a guilt offering. 7 The priest shall make atonement for him before the Lord and he shall be forgiven of any of the things a person may do and thereby become guilty.”
2 Listen to me! I, Paul, tell you that if you allow yourselves to be circumcised, Christ will be of no value to you. 3 Once again, I testify that every man who accepts circumcision is under obligation to observe the entire Law. 4 Those of you who seek to be justified by the Law have cut yourselves off from Christ and have fallen away from grace. 5 For it is through the Spirit and by faith that we eagerly hope to attain righteousness, 6 since in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor lack of circumcision is worth anything. All that matters is faith expressing itself through love.
