Psalm 119:33-40

HE

33 Teach [a]me, O Lord, the way of thy statutes, and I will keep it unto the end.

34 Give me understanding and I will keep thy Law, yea, I will keep it with my whole [b]heart.

35 Direct me in the path of thy commandments: for therein is my delight.

36 Incline mine heart unto thy testimonies: and not to [c]covetousness.

37 Turn away mine [d]eyes from regarding vanity, and quicken me in thy way.

38 Stablish thy promise to thy servant, because he feareth thee.

39 Take away [e]my rebuke that I fear: for thy judgments are good.

40 Behold, I desire thy commandments: [f]quicken me in thy righteousness.

Exodus 22:21-27

21 (A)Moreover, thou shalt not do injury to a stranger, neither oppress him: for ye were strangers in the land of Egypt.

22 (B)Ye shall not trouble any widow, nor fatherless child.

23 If thou vex or trouble such, and so he call and cry unto me, I will surely hear his cry.

24 Then shall my wrath be kindled, and I will kill you with the sword, and your [a]wives shall be widows, and your children fatherless.

25 (C)If thou lend money to my people, that is, to the poor with thee, thou shalt not be as an usurer unto him: ye shall not oppress him with usury.

26 If thou take thy neighbor’s raiment to pledge, thou shalt restore it unto him before the sun go down.

27 For that is his covering only, and this is his garment for his skin: wherein shall he sleep? therefore when he [b]crieth unto me, I will hear him: for I am merciful.

1 Corinthians 10:23-11:1

23 (A)[a][b]All things are lawful for me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but all things edify not.

24 Let no man seek his own, but every man another’s wealth.

25 [c]Whatsoever is sold in the [d]shambles, eat ye, and ask no question for conscience sake.

26 (B)For the earth is the Lord’s, and [e]all that therein is.

27 If any of them which believe not, call you to a feast, and if ye will go, whatsoever is set before you, eat, asking no question for conscience sake.

28 But if any man say unto you, This is sacrificed unto idols, eat it not, because of him that showed it, and for the conscience (for the earth is the Lord’s, and all that therein is.)

29 And the conscience, I say, not thine, but of that other: [f]for why should my liberty be condemned of another man’s conscience?

30 For if I through God’s [g]benefit be partaker, why am I evil spoken of, for that wherefore I give thanks?

31 (C)[h]Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.

32 Give none offence, neither to the Jews, nor to the Grecians, nor to the Church of God:

33 Even as I please all men in all things, not seeking mine own profit, but the profit of many, that they might be saved.

11 1 He blameth the Corinthians for that in their holy assemblies, 4 men do pray having their heads covered, 6 and women bareheaded: and because their meetings tended to evil, 21 who mingled profane banquets with the holy Supper of the Lord, 23 which he required to be celebrated according to Christ’s institution.

Be (D)ye followers of me, even as I am of Christ:
