Revised Common Lectionary (Semicontinuous)
96 1 An exhortation both to the Jews and Gentiles to praise God for his mercy. And this specially ought to be referred to the kingdom of Christ.
1 Sing [a]unto the Lord a new song: sing unto the Lord all the earth.
2 Sing unto the Lord, and praise his Name: declare his salvation from day to day.
3 Declare his glory among all nations, and his wonders among all people.
4 For the Lord is [b]great and much to be praised: he is to be feared above all gods.
5 For all the gods of the people are [c]idols: but the Lord [d]made the heavens.
6 [e]Strength and glory are before him: power and beauty are in his Sanctuary.
7 Give unto the Lord, ye families of the people: give unto the Lord glory and [f]power.
8 Give unto the Lord the glory of his Name: bring [g]an offering, and enter into his courts.
9 Worship the Lord in the glorious Sanctuary: tremble before him all the earth.
10 Say among the [h]Nations, The Lord reigneth: Surely the world shall be stable, and not move, and he shall judge the people [i]in righteousness.
11 Let the heavens rejoice, and let the earth be glad: let the sea roar, and all that therein is.
12 Let the field be joyful, and all that is in it: let all the [j]trees of the wood then rejoice,
13 Before the Lord: for he cometh, for he cometh to judge the earth: he will judge the world with righteousness, and the people in his truth.
29 Now Ahab the son of Omri began to reign over Israel, in the eight and thirty years of Asa king of Judah, and Ahab the son of Omri reigned over Israel in Samaria two and twenty years.
30 And Ahab the son of Omri did worse in the sight of the Lord than all that were before him.
31 For was it a light thing for him to walk in the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, except he took Jezebel also the daughter of Ethbaal king of the Sidonians [a]to wife, and went and served Baal, and worshipped him?
32 Also he reared up an altar to Baal in the house of Baal, which he had built in Samaria.
33 And Ahab made a grove, and Ahab proceeded, and did provoke the Lord God of Israel more than all the kings of Israel that were before him.
34 In his days did Hiel the Bethelite build [b]Jericho: he laid the foundation thereof in Abiram his eldest son, and set up the gates thereof in his youngest son Segub, according to the word of the Lord which he spake [c]by Joshua the son of Nun.
11 2 He testifieth that for the great loves sake he beareth to the Corinthians, he is compelled 5 to utter his own praises: 9 and that he bestowed his labor on them without any reward, 13 that the false apostles should not surpass him in anything, 22 whom he far excelled in those things which are praiseworthy indeed.
1 Would [a]to God, ye could suffer a little my foolishness, and indeed, ye suffer me.
2 For I am jealous over you, with [b]godly jealousy: for I have prepared you for one husband, to [c]present you as a pure virgin to Christ:
3 But I fear lest as the (A)serpent beguiled Eve through his subtlety, so your minds should be [d]corrupt from the simplicity that is in [e]Christ:
4 [f]For if he that cometh, preacheth [g]another Jesus whom we have not preached: or if ye receive another spirit whom ye have not received: either another Gospel which ye have not received, ye might well have suffered him.
5 Verily I suppose that I was not inferior to the very chief Apostles.
6 [h]And though I be [i]rude in speaking, yet I am not so in knowledge, but among you we have been made manifest to the uttermost, in all things.
