Psalm 135

135 1 He exhorteth all the faithful, of what estate soever they be, to praise God for his marvelous works. 12 And specially for his graces toward his people, wherein he hath declared his Majesty, 15 To the confusion of all idolaters and their idols.

Praise ye the Lord.

Praise, the Name of the Lord; ye servants of the Lord, praise him.

Ye that [a]stand in the House of the Lord, and in the [b]courts of the House of our God,

Praise ye the Lord: for the Lord is good: sing praises unto his Name: for it is a comely thing.

For the Lord hath [c]chosen Jacob to himself, and Israel for his chief treasure.

For I know that the Lord is great, and that our Lord is above all gods.

Whatsoever pleased the Lord, that [d]did he in heaven and in earth, in the sea, and in all the depths.

He bringeth up the clouds from the ends of the earth, and maketh the (A)lightnings with the rain: he draweth forth the wind out of his treasures.

(B)He smote the firstborn of Egypt both of man and beast.

He hath sent tokens and wonders into the midst of thee, O Egypt, upon Pharaoh, and upon all his servants.

10 (C)He smote many nations, and slew mighty Kings:

11 As Sihon King of the Amorites, and Og king of Bashan, and all the kingdoms of Canaan:

12 And [e]gave their land for an inheritance, even an inheritance unto Israel his people.

13 Thy Name, O Lord, endureth forever: O Lord, thy remembrance is from generation to generation.

14 For the Lord will [f]judge his people, and be pacified toward his servants.

15 The [g]idols of the heathen are silver and gold, even the work of men’s hands.

16 They have a mouth, and speak not: they have eyes and see not.

17 They have ears and hear not, neither is there any breath in their mouth.

18 They that make them, are like unto them: so are all that trust in them.

19 Praise the Lord, ye house of Israel: praise the Lord, ye house of Aaron.

20 Praise the Lord, ye house of Levi; ye that fear the Lord, praise the Lord.

21 Praised be the Lord out of Zion, which dwelleth in Jerusalem. Praise ye the Lord.

Ezekiel 14:12-23

12 ¶ The word of the Lord came again unto me, saying,

13 Son of man, when the land sinneth against me by committing a trespass, then will I stretch out mine hand upon it, [a]and will break the staff of the bread thereof, and will send famine upon it, and I will destroy man and beast forth of it.

14 Though these three men [b]Noah, Daniel, and Job were among them, they should deliver but their own souls by their [c]righteousness, saith the Lord God.

15 If I bring noisome beasts into the land and they spoil it, so that it be desolate, that no man may pass through, because of beasts,

16 Though these three men were in the midst thereof, As I live, saith the Lord God, they shall save neither sons nor daughters: they only shall be delivered, but the land shall be waste.

17 Or if I bring a sword upon this land, and say, Sword, go through the land, so that I destroy man and beast out of it,

18 Though these three men were in the midst thereof, As I live, saith the Lord God, they shall deliver neither sons nor daughters, but they only shall be delivered themselves.

19 Or if I send a pestilence into this land, and pour out my wrath upon it in blood, to destroy out of it man and beast,

20 And though Noah, Daniel and Job were in the midst of it, As I live, saith the Lord God, they shall deliver neither son nor daughter: they shall but deliver their own souls by their righteousness.

21 For thus saith the Lord God, How much more when I send my (A)four sore judgments upon Jerusalem, even the sword, and famine, and the noisome beast, and pestilence, to destroy man and beast out of it?

22 Yet behold, therein shall be left a [d]remnant of them that shall be carried away both sons and daughters: behold, they shall come forth unto you, and ye shall see their way, and their enterprises: and ye shall be comforted, concerning the evil that I have brought upon Jerusalem, even concerning all that I have brought upon it.

23 And they shall comfort you, when ye see their way and their enterprises: and ye shall know, that I have not done without cause all that I have done in it, saith the Lord God.

Mark 7:24-30

24 (A)[a]And from thence he rose, and went into the [b]borders of Tyre and Sidon, and entered into an house, and would that no man should have known: but he could not be hid.

25 For a certain woman, whose little daughter had an unclean spirit, heard of him, and came, and fell at his feet,

26 (And the woman was a [c]Greek, a [d]Syro-Phoenician by nation) and she besought him that he would cast out the devil out of her daughter.

27 But Jesus said unto her, Let the children first be fed: for it is not good to take the children’s bread, and to cast it unto [e]whelps.

28 Then she answered, and said unto him, [f]Truth, Lord: yet indeed the whelps eat under the table of the children’s crumbs.

29 Then he said unto her, For this saying go thy way: the devil is gone out of thy daughter.

30 And when she was come home to her house, she found the devil departed, and her daughter lying on the bed.
