Revised Common Lectionary (Semicontinuous)
Psalm 100
Be Thankful
A psalm of thanksgiving.
1 Let the whole earth shout triumphantly to the Lord!(A)
2 Serve the Lord with gladness;
come before him with joyful songs.(B)
3 Acknowledge that the Lord is God.
He made us, and we are his[a](C)—
his people, the sheep of his pasture.(D)
4 Enter his gates with thanksgiving(E)
and his courts with praise.
Give thanks to him and bless his name.(F)
5 For the Lord is good, and his faithful love endures forever;
his faithfulness, through all generations.
23 I will establish over them one shepherd, my servant David, and he will shepherd them. He will tend them himself and will be their shepherd.(A) 24 I, the Lord, will be their God, and my servant David(B) will be a prince among them. I, the Lord, have spoken.
25 “‘I will make a covenant of peace(C) with them and eliminate dangerous creatures(D) from the land, so that they may live securely(E) in the wilderness and sleep in the forest. 26 I will make them and the area around my hill(F) a blessing: I will send down showers in their season;(G) they will be showers of blessing. 27 The trees of the field will yield their fruit, and the land will yield its produce; my flock will be secure in their land. They will know that I am the Lord when I break the bars of their yoke and rescue them from the power of those who enslave them.(H) 28 They will no longer be prey for the nations, and the wild creatures of the earth will not consume them. They will live securely, and no one will frighten them. 29 I will establish for them a place renowned for its agriculture,[a] and they will no longer be victims of famine in the land. They will no longer endure the insults of the nations.(I) 30 Then they will know that I, the Lord their God, am with them, and that they, the house of Israel, are my people.(J) This is the declaration of the Lord God. 31 You are my flock, the human flock of my pasture, and I am your God. This is the declaration of the Lord God.’”(K)
Benediction and Farewell
20 Now may the God of peace, who brought up from the dead our Lord Jesus—the great Shepherd of the sheep(A)—through the blood of the everlasting covenant,(B) 21 equip[a] you with everything good to do his will, working in us what is pleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever.[b](C) Amen.
