Psalm 80:1-7

Psalm 80[a]

For the music director, according to the shushan-eduth style;[b] a psalm of Asaph.

80 O Shepherd of Israel, pay attention,
you who lead Joseph like a flock of sheep.
You who sit enthroned above the cherubim,[c] reveal your splendor.[d]
In the sight of Ephraim, Benjamin, and Manasseh reveal[e] your power.
Come and deliver us.[f]
O God, restore us.
Smile on us.[g] Then we will be delivered.[h]
O Lord God of Heaven’s Armies,[i]
how long will you remain angry at your people while they pray to you?[j]
You have given them tears as food;[k]
you have made them drink tears by the measure.[l]
You have made our neighbors dislike us,[m]
and our enemies insult us.
O God of Heaven’s Armies,[n] restore us.
Smile on us.[o] Then we will be delivered.[p]

Jeremiah 31:31-34

31 “Indeed, a time is coming,” says the Lord,[a] “when I will make a new covenant[b] with the people of Israel and Judah.[c] 32 It will not be like the old[d] covenant that I made with their ancestors[e] when I delivered them[f] from Egypt. For they violated that covenant, even though I was like a faithful husband to them,”[g] says the Lord.[h] 33 “But I will make a new covenant with the whole nation of Israel[i] after I plant them back in the land,”[j] says the Lord.[k] “I will[l] put my law within them[m] and write it on their hearts and minds.[n] I will be their God and they will be my people.[o]

34 “People will no longer need to teach their neighbors and relatives to know me.[p] For all of them, from the least important to the most important, will know me,”[q] says the Lord. “For[r] I will forgive their sin and will no longer call to mind the wrong they have done.”

Hebrews 10:10-18

10 By his will[a] we have been made holy through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. 11 And every priest stands day after day[b] serving and offering the same sacrifices again and again—sacrifices that can never take away sins. 12 But when this priest[c] had offered one sacrifice for sins for all time, he sat down at the right hand[d] of God, 13 where he is now waiting[e] until his enemies are made a footstool for his feet.[f] 14 For by one offering he has perfected for all time those who are made holy. 15 And the Holy Spirit also witnesses to us, for after saying,[g] 16 This is the covenant that I will establish with them after those days, says the Lord. I will put[h] my laws on their hearts and I will inscribe them on their minds,”[i] 17 then he says,[j]Their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no longer.”[k] 18 Now where there is forgiveness of these, there is no longer any offering for sin.
