New English Translation (NET)
Version
Psalm 85:8-13

I will listen to what God the Lord says.[a]
For he will make[b] peace with his people, his faithful followers.[c]
Yet they must not[d] return to their foolish ways.
Certainly his loyal followers will soon experience his deliverance;[e]
then his splendor will again appear in our land.[f]
10 Loyal love and faithfulness meet;[g]
deliverance and peace greet each other with a kiss.[h]
11 Faithfulness grows from the ground,
and deliverance looks down from the sky.[i]
12 Yes, the Lord will bestow his good blessings,[j]
and our land will yield[k] its crops.
13 Deliverance goes[l] before him,
and prepares[m] a pathway for him.[n]

Amos 2:6-16

God Will Judge Israel

This is what the Lord says:

“Because Israel has committed three covenant transgressions[a]
make that four[b]—I will not revoke my decree of judgment.[c]
They sold the innocent[d] for silver,
the needy for a pair of sandals.[e]
They trample[f] on the dirt-covered heads of the poor;[g]
they push the destitute away.[h]
A man and his father go to the same girl;[i]
in this way they show disrespect for[j] my moral purity.[k]
They stretch out on clothing seized as collateral;
they do so right[l] beside every altar!
They drink wine bought with the fines they have levied;
they do so right in the temple[m] of their God![n]
For Israel’s sake I destroyed the Amorites.[o]
They were as tall as cedars[p]
and as strong as oaks,
but I destroyed the fruit on their branches[q]
and their roots in the ground.[r]
10 I brought you up from the land of Egypt;
I led you through the wilderness for forty years
so you could take the Amorites’ land as your own.
11 I made some of your sons prophets
and some of your young men Nazirites.[s]
Is this not true, you Israelites?”
The Lord is speaking.
12 “But you made the Nazirites drink wine;[t]
you commanded the prophets, ‘Do not prophesy!’
13 Look! I will press you down,
like a cart loaded down with grain presses down.[u]
14 Fast runners will find no place to hide;[v]
strong men will have no strength left;[w]
warriors will not be able to save their lives.
15 Archers[x] will not hold their ground;[y]
fast runners will not save their lives,
nor will those who ride horses.[z]
16 Bravehearted[aa] warriors will run away naked in that day.”
The Lord is speaking.

Colossians 2:1-5

For I want you to know how great a struggle I have for you,[a] and for those in Laodicea, and for those who have not met me face to face.[b] My goal is that[c] their hearts, having been knit together[d] in love, may be encouraged, and that[e] they may have all the riches that assurance brings in their understanding of the knowledge of the mystery of God, namely, Christ,[f] in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. I say this so that no one will deceive you through arguments[g] that sound reasonable.[h] For though[i] I am absent from you in body, I am present with you in spirit, rejoicing to see[j] your morale[k] and the firmness of your faith in Christ.
