Version
Psalm 121

The Lord, the Keeper of Israel.

A Song of Ascents.

121 I will (A)raise my eyes to (B)the mountains;
From where will my help come?
My (C)help comes from the Lord,
Who (D)made heaven and earth.
He will not (E)allow your foot to slip;
He who (F)watches over you will not slumber.
Behold, He who watches over Israel
Will neither slumber nor sleep.

The Lord is your [a](G)protector;
The Lord is your (H)shade on your right hand.
The (I)sun will not [b]beat down on you by day,
Nor the moon by night.
The Lord will [c](J)protect you from all evil;
He will keep your soul.
The Lord will [d](K)guard your going out and your coming in
(L)From this time and forever.

Isaiah 54:11-17

11 (A)Afflicted one, storm-tossed, and (B)not comforted,
Behold, I will set your stones in antimony,
And I will (C)lay your foundations with [a](D)sapphires.
12 Moreover, I will make your battlements of [b]rubies,
And your gates of [c]crystal,
And your entire [d]wall of precious stones.
13 (E)All your sons will be [e]taught by the Lord;
And the well-being of your sons will be (F)great.
14 In (G)righteousness you will be established;
You will be far from (H)oppression, for you will (I)not fear;
And from (J)terror, for it will not come near you.
15 If anyone fiercely attacks you, it will not be from Me.
(K)Whoever attacks you will fall because of you.
16 Behold, I Myself have created the smith who blows on the fire of coals
And produces a weapon for its work;
And I have created the destroyer to inflict ruin.
17 (L)No weapon that is formed against you will succeed;
And you will condemn (M)every tongue that [f]accuses you in judgment.
This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord,
And their (N)vindication is from Me,” declares the Lord.

Acts 17:22-34

Sermon on Mars Hill

22 So Paul stood in the midst of the [a]Areopagus and said, “Men of (A)Athens, I see that you are very (B)religious in all respects. 23 For while I was passing through and examining the (C)objects of your worship, I also found an altar with this inscription, ‘TO AN UNKNOWN GOD.’ Therefore, what (D)you worship in ignorance, this I proclaim to you. 24 (E)The God who made the world and everything that is in it, since He is (F)Lord of heaven and earth, does not (G)dwell in temples made by hands; 25 nor is He served by human hands, (H)as though He needed anything, since He Himself gives to all people life and breath and all things; 26 and (I)He made from one man every nation of mankind to live on all the face of the earth, having (J)determined their appointed times and the boundaries of their habitation, 27 that they would seek God, if perhaps they might feel around for Him and find Him, (K)though He is not far from each one of us; 28 for (L)in Him we live and move and [b]exist, as even some of your own poets have said, ‘For we also are His descendants.’ 29 Therefore, since we are the descendants of God, we (M)ought not to think that the Divine Nature is like gold or silver or stone, an image formed by human skill and thought. 30 So having (N)overlooked (O)the times of ignorance, God is (P)now proclaiming to mankind that all people everywhere are to repent, 31 because He has set (Q)a day on which (R)He will judge [c](S)the world in righteousness [d]through a Man whom He has (T)appointed, having furnished proof to all people [e]by (U)raising Him from the dead.”

32 Now when they heard of (V)the resurrection of the dead, some began to scoff, but others said, “We shall hear from you [f]again concerning this.” 33 So Paul went out from among them. 34 But some men joined him and believed, among whom also were Dionysius the (W)Areopagite and a woman named Damaris, and others with them.
