Revised Common Lectionary (Complementary)
97 The LORD reigns. Let the Earth rejoice! Let the multitude of the isles be glad.
2 Clouds and darkness surround Him. Righteousness and judgment are the foundation of His throne.
3 A fire shall go before Him and burn up His enemies all around.
4 His lightnings gave light to the world. The Earth saw it and was afraid.
5 The mountains melted like wax at the presence of the LORD, at the presence of the LORD of the whole Earth.
6 The heavens declare His righteousness, and all the people see His Glory.
7 All those who serve graven images, who glory in idols, are confounded. Worship Him all you gods.
8 Zion heard of it and was glad; and the daughters of Judah rejoiced because of Your judgments, O LORD.
9 For You, LORD, are Most High above all the Earth. You are much exalted above all gods.
10 You who love the LORD, hate evil. He preserves the souls of His saints. He will deliver them from the hand of the wicked.
11 Light is sown for the righteous, and joy for the upright in heart.
12 Rejoice in the LORD, you righteous; and give thanks for His holy remembrance. A Psalm
1 I have made the first account, O Theophilus, of all that Jesus began to do and teach
2 until the day He was taken up (after He, through the Holy Ghost, had given Commandments to the Apostles whom He had chosen -
3 and to whom He presented Himself alive by many sure signs after He had suffered - being seen by them over forty days and speaking of those things concerning the Kingdom of God).
4 And when He had gathered them together, He commanded them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the promise of the Father, which, He said, “You have heard from Me.
5 “For John indeed baptized with water. But you shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost within a few days.”
6 Therefore, when they had come together, they asked of Him, saying, “Lord, will You restore the Kingdom to Israel at this time?”
7 And He said to them, “It is not for you to know the times or the seasons which the Father has put in place by His own authority.
8 “But you shall receive power from the Holy Ghost when He shall come upon you. And you shall be witnesses to Me, both in Jerusalem and in all Judea, and in Samaria, and to the outermost part of the Earth.”
9 And when He had spoken these things, while they looked on, He was taken up. For a cloud took Him up out of their sight.
10 And as He went, while they were looking toward Heaven, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel,
11 who also said, “You men of Galilee! Why do you stand, gazing into Heaven? This Jesus Who is taken up from you into Heaven, shall also come as you have seen Him go into Heaven.”
47 All people, clap your hands! Sing loud to God with a joyful voice!
2 For the LORD is high and terrible, a great King over all the Earth.
3 He has subdued the people under us and the nations under our feet.
4 He has chosen our inheritance for us, the glory of Jacob whom He loved. Selah.
5 God has gone up with triumph, the LORD with the sound of the trumpet.
6 Sing praises to God! Sing praises! Sing praises to our King! Sing praises!
7 For God is the King of all the Earth. Sing praises with understanding.
8 God reigns over the heathen. God sits upon His Holy Throne.
9 The princes of the people are gathered to the people of the God of Abraham. For the shields of the world belong to God. He is greatly exalted! A song or Psalm committed to the sons of Korah.
93 The LORD reigns and is clothed with majesty. The LORD is clothed and girded with power. Also, the world shall be established, so that it cannot be moved.
2 Your throne is established of old. You are from everlasting.
3 The floods have lifted up, O LORD. The floods have lifted up their voice. The floods lift up their waves.
4 The waves of the sea are marvelous through the noise of many waters. The LORD on High is more mighty.
5 Your testimonies are very sure. Holiness becomes Your House, O LORD, forever.
15 Therefore, also, after I heard of the faith which you have in the Lord Jesus, and love toward all the saints,
16 I do not cease to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers,
17 that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of Glory, might give to you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation through the knowledge of Him,
18 that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened, so that you may know what the hope is of His calling, and what the riches are of His glorious inheritance in the saints,
19 and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His strength;
20 which He worked in Christ when He raised him from the dead, and set Him at His right hand in the Heavenly realms,
21 far above every principality and power and might and domination, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in the coming one.
22 And all things have been put under His feet. And He has been given headship over all things of the Church,
23 which is His body - the fullness of Him Who fills all in all.
44 And He said to them, “These are the words which I spoke to you while I was still with you - that all which is written of Me in the Law of Moses, and in the Prophets, and in the Psalms, must be fulfilled.
45 Then He opened their minds, so that they might understand the Scriptures.
46 And said to them, “Thus is it written. And thus it was necessary for Christ to suffer and to rise again from the dead the third day,
47 and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in His Name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.
48 “Now, you are witnesses of these things.
49 And behold, I send the promise of My Father upon you. But wait in the city of Jerusalem until you are filled with power from on high.”
50 Afterward, He led them out into Bethany, and lifted up His hands and blessed them.
51 And it happened that, as He blessed them, He departed from them and was carried up into Heaven.
52 And they worshipped Him and returned to Jerusalem with great joy,
53 and were continually in the Temple, praising and blessing God. Amen.
