Revised Common Lectionary (Complementary)
30 I will magnify You, O LORD. You have exalted me and have not made my foes to rejoice over me.
2 O LORD, my God, I cried to You; and You have restored me.
3 O LORD, You have brought up my soul out of the grave. You have revived me from those who go down into the pit.
4 Sing praises to the LORD, His Saints, and give thanks before the remembrance of His Holiness.
5 For His anger endures but a while. In His favor is life. Weeping may abide at evening, but joy comes in the morning.
6 And in my prosperity, I said, “I shall never be moved.”
7 For You, LORD, from Your goodness, had made my mountain to stand strong. You hid Your face, and I was troubled.
8 Then I cried to You, O LORD, and prayed to my LORD.
9 What profit is there in my blood when I go down to the pit! Shall the dust give thanks to You? Or shall it declare Your Truth?
10 Hear, O LORD; and have mercy upon me. LORD, be my Helper.
11 You have turned my mourning into joy. You have loosened my sackcloth and girded me with gladness.
12 Therefore, my tongue shall praise You, and not cease. O LORD, my God, I will give thanks to You forever. To him who excels: A Psalm of David.
18 Again the LORD appeared to him on the plain of Mamre, as he sat in his tent door in the heat of the day.
2 And he lifted up his eyes and looked. And lo, three men stood by him. And when he saw them, he ran to meet them from the tent door and bowed himself to the ground.
3 And he said, “Lord, if I have now found favor in Your sight, please do not go from Your servant.
4 “Please let a little water be brought; and wash your feet and rest yourselves under the tree.
5 “And I will bring a morsel of bread, so that you may comfort your hearts. Afterward, you shall go your ways. For therefore have you come to your servant.” And they said, “Do even as you have said.”
6 Then Abraham went quickly into the tent, to Sarah, and said, “Make ready at once three measures of fine meal; knead it and make cakes upon the hearth.”
7 And Abraham ran to the beasts and took a tender and good calf and gave it to the servant, who hurried to make it ready.
8 And he took butter and milk, and the calf which he had prepared, and set them before them, and stood by them under the tree. And they ate.
12 Then He also said to the one who had invited Him, “When you make a dinner or a supper, do not call your friends or your brothers or your kinsmen or the rich neighbors, so that they invite you in return, and a recompense be made to you.
13 “But when you make a feast, call the poor, the maimed, the lame, the blind.
14 “And you shall be blessed, because they cannot repay you. For you shall be recompensed at the Resurrection of the Just.”
