Revised Common Lectionary (Complementary)
4 John, to the seven congregations in Asia. Grace be with you and peace, from him who is and who was and who is to come, and from the seven spirits that are present before his throne, 5 and from Jesus Christ, who is a faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and Lord over the kings of the earth.
To him who loved us and washed us from our sins in his own blood, 6 and made us kings and priests unto God his Father, be glory and dominion forevermore. Amen. 7 Behold, he comes with clouds, and all eyes shall see him, and they also who pierced him. And all the kindreds of the earth shall wail. Even so. Amen. 8 I am the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, says the Lord Almighty, who is and who was and who is to come.
33 Then Pilate entered into the judgment hall again, and called Jesus and said to him, Are you the king of the Jews? 34 Jesus answered, Do you say that of yourself, or did others tell you this about me?
35 Pilate answered, Am I a Jew? Your own nation and high priests have delivered you to me. What have you done?
36 Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world. If my kingdom were of this world, then my servants would surely fight so that I would not be delivered to the Jews. But now my kingdom is not from here.
37 Pilate said to him, Are you a king then?
Jesus answered, You say rightly that I am a king. For this cause I was born, and for this cause I came into the world: that I should bear witness to the truth. And all who are of the truth hear my voice.
