Waiting for the Redemption of the Lord

A Song of Ascents.

130 Out (A)of the depths I have cried to You, O Lord;
Lord, hear my voice!
Let Your ears be attentive
To the voice of my supplications.

(B)If You, Lord, should [a]mark iniquities,
O Lord, who could (C)stand?
But there is (D)forgiveness with You,
That (E)You may be feared.

(F)I wait for the Lord, my soul waits,
And (G)in His word I do hope.
(H)My soul waits for the Lord
More than those who watch for the morning—
Yes, more than those who watch for the morning.

(I)O Israel, hope in the Lord;
For (J)with the Lord there is mercy,
And with Him is abundant redemption.
And (K)He shall redeem Israel
From all his iniquities.

Deuteronomy 1:34-40

The Penalty for Israel’s Rebellion(A)

34 “And the Lord heard the sound of your words, and was angry, (B)and took an oath, saying, 35 (C)‘Surely not one of these men of this evil generation shall see that good land of which I [a]swore to give to your fathers, 36 (D)except Caleb the son of Jephunneh; he shall see it, and to him and his children I am giving the land on which he walked, because (E)he [b]wholly followed the Lord.’ 37 (F)The Lord was also angry with me for your sakes, saying, ‘Even you shall not go in there. 38 (G)Joshua the son of Nun, (H)who stands before you, he shall go in there. (I)Encourage him, for he shall cause Israel to inherit it.

39 (J)‘Moreover your little ones and your children, who (K)you say will be victims, who today (L)have no knowledge of good and evil, they shall go in there; to them I will give it, and they shall possess it. 40 (M)But as for you, turn and take your journey into the wilderness by the Way of the Red Sea.’

2 Corinthians 5:1-5

Assurance of the Resurrection

For we know that if (A)our earthly [a]house, this tent, is destroyed, we have a building from God, a house (B)not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. For in this (C)we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed with our [b]habitation which is from heaven, if indeed, (D)having been clothed, we shall not be found naked. For we who are in this tent groan, being burdened, not because we want to be unclothed, (E)but further clothed, that mortality may be swallowed up by life. Now He who has prepared us for this very thing is God, who also (F)has given us the Spirit as [c]a guarantee.
