Revised Common Lectionary (Complementary)
The Lord Reigns
93 (A)The Lord reigns; he is (B)robed in majesty;
the Lord is (C)robed; he has (D)put on strength as his belt.
(E)Yes, the world is established; (F)it shall never be moved.
2 (G)Your throne is established from of old;
(H)you are from everlasting.
Prophecy Against Sidon
20 The word of the Lord came to me: 21 (A)“Son of man, (B)set your face toward (C)Sidon, and (D)prophesy against her 22 and say, Thus says the Lord God:
“Behold, (E)I am against you, O Sidon,
and (F)I will manifest my glory in your midst.
And (G)they shall know that I am the Lord
(H)when I execute judgments in her
and (I)manifest my holiness in her;
23 for I will send (J)pestilence into her,
and blood into her streets;
and the slain shall fall in her midst,
by the sword that is against her on every side.
Then they will know that I am the Lord.
24 “And for the house of Israel (K)there shall be no more a brier to prick or (L)a thorn to hurt them among all their neighbors (M)who have treated them with contempt. Then they will know that I am the Lord God.
Israel Gathered in Security
25 “Thus says the Lord God: (N)When I gather the house of Israel from the peoples among whom they are scattered, and (O)manifest my holiness in them in the sight of the nations, (P)then they shall dwell in their own land that I gave to my servant Jacob. 26 (Q)And they shall dwell securely in it, and they shall build houses and plant vineyards. They shall dwell securely, (R)when I execute judgments upon all their neighbors (S)who have treated them with contempt. (T)Then they will know that I am the Lord their God.”
20 But in fact (A)Christ has been raised from the dead, (B)the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep. 21 For as (C)by a man came death, (D)by a man has come also the resurrection of the dead. 22 For (E)as in Adam all die, so also in Christ shall all be made alive. 23 But each in his own order: Christ the firstfruits, then (F)at his coming (G)those who belong to Christ. 24 Then comes the end, when he delivers (H)the kingdom to God the Father after destroying (I)every rule and every authority and power. 25 For he must reign (J)until he has put all his enemies under his feet. 26 The last enemy to be (K)destroyed is death. 27 For (L)“God[a] has put all things in subjection under his feet.” But when it says, “all things are put in subjection,” it is plain that he is excepted who put all things in subjection under him. 28 When (M)all things are subjected to him, then the Son himself will also be subjected to him who put all things in subjection under him, that (N)God may be all in all.
