Psalm 78:23-29

23 Yet he commanded the skies above
    and (A)opened the doors of heaven,
24 and he (B)rained down on them manna to eat
    and gave them (C)the grain of heaven.
25 Man ate of the bread of (D)the angels;
    he sent them food (E)in abundance.
26 He (F)caused the east wind to blow in the heavens,
    and by his power he led out the south wind;
27 he rained meat on them like (G)dust,
    winged birds like (H)the sand of the seas;
28 he (I)let them fall in the midst of their camp,
    all round their dwellings.
29 And they (J)ate and were well filled,
    for he gave them what they (K)craved.

Exodus 12:33-42

The Exodus

33 (A)The Egyptians were urgent with the people to send them out of the land in haste. For they said, “We shall all be dead.” 34 So the people took their dough before it was leavened, their kneading bowls being bound up in their cloaks on their shoulders. 35 The people of Israel had also done as Moses told them, for they had (B)asked the Egyptians for silver and gold jewellery and for clothing. 36 (C)And the Lord had given the people favour in the sight of the Egyptians, so that (D)they let them have what they asked. Thus they plundered the Egyptians.

37 And the (E)people of Israel journeyed from (F)Rameses to Succoth, (G)about six hundred thousand men on foot, besides women and children. 38 A (H)mixed multitude also went up with them, and very much livestock, both flocks and herds. 39 And they baked unleavened cakes of the dough that they had brought out of Egypt, for it was not leavened, because (I)they were thrust out of Egypt and (J)could not wait, nor had they prepared any provisions for themselves.

40 The time that the people of Israel lived in Egypt was 430 years. 41 At the end of (K)430 years, on that very day, all the hosts of the Lord went out from the land of Egypt. 42 It was a night of watching by the Lord, to bring them out of the land of Egypt; so this same night is a (L)night of watching kept to the Lord by all the people of Israel throughout their generations.

1 Corinthians 11:17-22

The Lord's Supper

17 But in the following instructions I do not commend you, because when you come together it is not for the better but for the worse. 18 For, in the first place, when you come together as a church, (A)I hear that there are divisions among you. And I believe it in part,[a] 19 for (B)there must be factions among you in order (C)that those who are genuine among you may be recognized. 20 When you come together, it is not the Lord's supper that you eat. 21 For in eating, each one goes ahead with his own meal. One goes hungry, (D)another gets drunk. 22 What! Do you not have houses to eat and drink in? Or do you despise (E)the church of God and (F)humiliate those who have nothing? What shall I say to you? Shall I commend you in this? No, I will not.
