Psalm 100

His Steadfast Love Endures For Ever

A Psalm for (A)giving thanks.

100 (B)Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth!
    (C)Serve the Lord with gladness!
(D)Come into his presence with singing!
Know that (E)the Lord, he is God!
It is he who (F)made us, and (G)we are his;[a]
we are his (H)people, and (I)the sheep of his pasture.
(J)Enter his gates with thanksgiving,
    and his (K)courts with praise!
Give thanks to him; (L)bless his name!
(M)For the Lord is good;
his steadfast love endures for ever,
and his (N)faithfulness to all generations.

Jeremiah 50:1-7

Judgement on Babylon

50 The word that the Lord spoke concerning (A)Babylon, concerning the land of the Chaldeans, (B)by Jeremiah the prophet:

“Declare among the nations and proclaim,
set up a banner and proclaim,
    conceal it not, and say:
(C)‘Babylon is taken,
    (D)Bel is put to shame,
    Merodach is dismayed.
(E)Her images are put to shame,
    her idols are dismayed.’

“For (F)out of the north a nation has come up against her, (G)which shall make her land a desolation, and none shall dwell in it; (H)both man and beast shall flee away.

(I)“In those days and in that time, declares the Lord, (J)the people of Israel and the people of Judah shall come together, (K)weeping as they come, and they (L)shall seek the Lord their God. (M)They shall ask the way to Zion, with faces turned towards it, (N)saying, ‘Come, let us join ourselves to the Lord in an (O)everlasting covenant that will never be forgotten.’

(P)“My people have been lost sheep. (Q)Their shepherds have led them astray, turning them away on the mountains. From mountain to hill they have gone. They have forgotten their fold. All who found them have devoured them, (R)and their enemies have said, ‘We are not guilty, for (S)they have sinned against the Lord, (T)their habitation of righteousness, the Lord, (U)the hope of their fathers.’

Hebrews 13:17-25

17 Obey (A)your leaders and submit to them, (B)for they are keeping watch over your souls, as those who will have to (C)give an account. (D)Let them do this with joy and not with groaning, for that would be of no advantage to you.

18 (E)Pray for us, for we are sure that we have a clear conscience, desiring to act honourably in all things. 19 I urge you the more earnestly to do this in order (F)that I may be restored to you the sooner.

Benediction

20 Now (G)may the God of peace (H)who brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, (I)the great shepherd of the sheep, by (J)the blood of the eternal covenant, 21 (K)equip you with everything good that you may do his will, (L)working in us[a] that which is pleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ, (M)to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

Final Greetings

22 I appeal to you, brothers,[b] bear with my word of exhortation, for (N)I have written to you briefly. 23 You should know that (O)our brother Timothy has been released, with whom I shall see you if he comes soon. 24 Greet all (P)your leaders and all the saints. Those who come from Italy send you greetings. 25 (Q)Grace be with all of you.
