14 The Lord is my strength and my song;
(A)he has become my salvation.
15 Glad songs of salvation
are in the tents of the righteous:
(B)“The right hand of the Lord (C)does valiantly,
16 the right hand of the Lord exalts,
the right hand of the Lord (D)does valiantly!”
17 (E)I shall not die, but I shall live,
and (F)recount the deeds of the Lord.
18 The Lord has (G)disciplined me severely,
but he has not given me over to death.
19 (H)Open to me the gates of righteousness,
that I may enter through them
and give thanks to the Lord.
20 This is the gate of the Lord;
(I)the righteous shall enter through it.
21 I thank you that (J)you have answered me
(K)and have become my salvation.
22 (L)The stone that the builders rejected
has become the cornerstone.[a]
23 This is the Lord's doing;
it is marvellous in our eyes.
24 This is the day that the Lord has made;
let us rejoice and be glad in it.
20 And God said, “Let the waters swarm with swarms of living creatures, and let birds[a] fly above the earth across the expanse of the heavens.” 21 So (A)God created the great sea creatures and every living creature that moves, with which the waters swarm, according to their kinds, and every winged bird according to its kind. And God saw that it was good. 22 And God blessed them, saying, (B)“Be fruitful and multiply and fill the waters in the seas, and let birds multiply on the earth.” 23 And there was evening and there was morning, the fifth day.
24 And God said, “Let the earth bring forth living creatures according to their kinds—livestock and creeping things and beasts of the earth according to their kinds.” And it was so. 25 And God made the beasts of the earth according to their kinds and the livestock according to their kinds, and everything that creeps on the ground according to its kind. And God saw that it was good.
26 Then God said, (C)“Let us make man[b] in our image, (D)after our likeness. And (E)let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.”
27 So God created man in his own image,
in the image of God he created him;
(F)male and female he created them.
28 And God blessed them. And God said to them, (G)“Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over every living thing that moves on the earth.” 29 And God said, “Behold, I have given you every plant yielding seed that is on the face of all the earth, and every tree with seed in its fruit. (H)You shall have them for food. 30 And (I)to every beast of the earth and to every bird of the heavens and to everything that creeps on the earth, everything that has the breath of life, I have given every green plant for food.” And it was so. 31 (J)And God saw everything that he had made, and behold, it was very good. And there was evening and there was morning, the sixth day.
The Seventh Day, God Rests
2 Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and (K)all the host of them. 2 And (L)on the seventh day God finished his work that he had done, and he rested on the seventh day from all his work that he had done. 3 So God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it God rested from all his work that he had done in creation.

4 (M)These are the generations
of the heavens and the earth when they were created,
in the day that the Lord God made the earth and the heavens.
Mystery and Victory
50 I tell you this, brothers: (A)flesh and blood (B)cannot inherit the kingdom of God, nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable. 51 Behold! I tell you a mystery. (C)We shall not all sleep, (D)but we shall all be changed, 52 in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For (E)the trumpet will sound, and (F)the dead will be raised imperishable, and we shall be changed. 53 For this perishable body must put on the imperishable, and (G)this mortal body must put on immortality. 54 When the perishable puts on the imperishable, and the mortal puts on immortality, then shall come to pass the saying that is written:
(H)“Death is swallowed up in victory.”
55 (I)“O death, where is your victory?
O death, where is your sting?”
56 The sting of death is sin, and (J)the power of sin is the law. 57 But thanks be to God, (K)who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
58 (L)Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in (M)the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord (N)your labour is not in vain.
