Version
Psalm 146:5-10

(A)Blessed is he whose help is the God of Jacob,
    whose (B)hope is in the Lord his God,
(C)who made heaven and earth,
    the sea, and all that is in them,
(D)who keeps faith for ever;
    (E)who executes justice for the oppressed,
    (F)who gives food to the hungry.
(G)The Lord sets the prisoners free;
    (H)the Lord opens the eyes of the blind.
(I)The Lord lifts up those who are bowed down;
    (J)the Lord loves the righteous.
(K)The Lord watches over the sojourners;
    (L)he upholds the widow and the fatherless,
    but (M)the way of the wicked he brings to ruin.
10 (N)The Lord will reign for ever,
    your God, O Zion, to all generations.
(O)Praise the Lord!

Ruth 4:13-17

Ruth and Boaz Marry

13 So Boaz took Ruth, and she became his wife. And he went in to her, (A)and the Lord gave her conception, and she bore a son. 14 (B)Then the women said to Naomi, “Blessed be the Lord, who has not left you this day without (C)a redeemer, and may his name (D)be renowned in Israel! 15 He shall be to you a restorer of life and a nourisher of your old age, for your daughter-in-law who loves you, (E)who is more to you than seven sons, has given birth to him.” 16 Then Naomi took the child and laid him on her lap and became his nurse. 17 (F)And the women of the neighbourhood gave him a name, saying, “A son has been born to Naomi.” They named him Obed. He was the father of Jesse, the father of David.

2 Peter 3:11-18

11 Since all these things are thus to be dissolved, (A)what sort of people ought you to be in lives of holiness and godliness, 12 (B)waiting for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be set on fire and dissolved, and (C)the heavenly bodies will melt as they burn! 13 But according to his promise we are waiting for (D)new heavens and a new earth (E)in which righteousness dwells.

Final Words

14 (F)Therefore, beloved, since you are waiting for these, be diligent to be found by him (G)without spot or (H)blemish, and (I)at peace. 15 And count (J)the patience of our Lord as salvation, just as (K)our beloved brother Paul also wrote to you (L)according to the wisdom given him, 16 as he does in all his letters when he speaks in them of these matters. (M)There are some things in them that are hard to understand, which the ignorant and unstable twist to their own destruction, (N)as they do the other Scriptures. 17 You therefore, beloved, (O)knowing this beforehand, (P)take care that you are not carried away with the error of lawless people and lose your own stability. 18 But (Q)grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. (R)To him be the glory both now and to the day of (S)eternity. Amen.
