Psalm 72:1-7

Give the King Your Justice

Of (A)Solomon.

72 Give the king your (B)justice, O God,
and your righteousness to the royal son!
May he (C)judge your people with righteousness,
    and your poor with justice!
Let the mountains bear (D)prosperity for the people,
    and the hills, in righteousness!
May he defend the cause of the poor of the people,
give deliverance to the children of the needy,
    and crush the oppressor!
May they fear you[a] while (E)the sun endures,
and as long as the moon, (F)throughout all generations!
May he be like (G)rain that falls on (H)the mown grass,
like (I)showers that water the earth!
In his days may (J)the righteous flourish,
and (K)peace abound, till the moon be no more!

Psalm 72:18-19

18 (A)Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel,
    who alone does (B)wondrous things.
19 Blessed be his (C)glorious name for ever;
may (D)the whole earth be filled with his glory!
(E)Amen and Amen!

Isaiah 30:19-26

19 For a people shall dwell (A)in Zion, in Jerusalem; you shall weep no more. He will surely be gracious to you at the sound of your cry. As soon as he hears it, he answers you. 20 And though the Lord give you the (B)bread of adversity and the (C)water of affliction, (D)yet your Teacher will not hide himself any more, but your eyes shall see your Teacher. 21 (E)And your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, “This is (F)the way, walk in it”, when you turn to the right or when you turn to the left. 22 Then you will defile your carved idols overlaid with silver and your gold-plated metal images. (G)You will scatter them as unclean things. You will say to them, “Be gone!”

23 (H)And he will give (I)rain for the seed with which you sow the ground, and bread, the produce of the ground, which will be rich and plenteous. (J)In that day your livestock will graze in large pastures, 24 and (K)the oxen and the donkeys that work the ground will eat seasoned fodder, which has been winnowed with shovel and fork. 25 And (L)on every lofty mountain and every high hill there will be brooks running with water, in the day of the great slaughter, (M)when the towers fall. 26 (N)Moreover, the light of the moon will be as the light of the sun, and the light of the sun will be sevenfold, as the light of seven days, in the day when (O)the Lord binds up (P)the brokenness of his people, and heals the wounds inflicted by his blow.

Acts 13:16-25

16 So Paul stood up, and (A)motioning with his hand said:

“Men of Israel and (B)you who fear God, listen. 17 (C)The God of this people Israel (D)chose our fathers and (E)made the people great (F)during their stay in the land of Egypt, and (G)with uplifted arm he led them out of it. 18 And for about (H)forty years (I)he put up with[a] them in the wilderness. 19 And (J)after destroying (K)seven nations in the land of Canaan, (L)he gave them their land as an inheritance. 20 All this took about 450 years. And after that (M)he gave them judges until (N)Samuel the prophet. 21 Then (O)they asked for a king, and God gave them Saul (P)the son of Kish, a man of the tribe of Benjamin, for forty years. 22 And (Q)when he had removed him, (R)he raised up David to be their king, of whom he testified and said, (S)‘I have found in David the son of Jesse (T)a man after my heart, (U)who will do all my will.’ 23 (V)Of this man's offspring God has brought to Israel (W)a Saviour, Jesus, (X)as he promised. 24 Before his coming, (Y)John had proclaimed (Z)a baptism of repentance to all the people of Israel. 25 And as John was finishing his course, (AA)he said, ‘What do you suppose that I am? I am not he. No, but behold, after me one is coming, the sandals of whose feet I am not worthy to untie.’
