Version
Psalm 31:9-16

Be gracious to me, Lord, for (A)I am in distress;
My (B)eye is wasted away from grief, (C)my soul and my body too.
10 For my life is spent with (D)sorrow
And my years with sighing;
My (E)strength has failed because of my guilt,
And (F)my [a]body has wasted away.
11 Because of all my adversaries, I have become a (G)disgrace,
Especially to my (H)neighbors,
And an object of dread to my acquaintances;
Those who see me in the street flee from me.
12 I am (I)forgotten like a dead person, out of mind;
I am like a broken vessel.
13 For I have heard the [b](J)slander of many,
(K)Terror is on every side;
While they (L)took counsel together against me,
They (M)schemed to take away my life.

14 But as for me, I trust in You, Lord,
I say, “(N)You are my God.”
15 My (O)times are in Your hand;
(P)Rescue me from the hand of my enemies and from those who persecute me.
16 Make Your (Q)face shine upon Your servant;
(R)Save me in Your faithfulness.

Isaiah 53:10-12

10 But the Lord desired
To (A)crush Him, [a](B)causing Him grief;
If He renders [b]Himself as a guilt (C)offering,
He will see (D)His [c]offspring,
He will prolong His days,
And the [d]good (E)pleasure of the Lord will prosper in His hand.
11 As a result of the [e]anguish of His soul,
He will [f](F)see it and be satisfied;
By His (G)knowledge the Righteous One,
My Servant, will justify the many,
For He will (H)bear their wrongdoings.
12 Therefore, I will allot Him a (I)portion with the great,
And He will divide the plunder with the strong,
Because He poured out His [g](J)life unto death,
And was (K)counted with wrongdoers;
Yet He Himself (L)bore the sin of many,
And interceded for the wrongdoers.

Hebrews 2:1-9

Pay Attention

For this reason we must pay much closer attention to [a]what we have heard, so that (A)we do not drift away from it. For if the word (B)spoken through (C)angels proved [b]unalterable, and (D)every violation and act of disobedience received a just [c](E)punishment, (F)how will we escape if we neglect so great a (G)salvation? [d]After it was at first (H)spoken through the Lord, it was (I)confirmed to us by those who heard, God also testifying with them, both by (J)signs and wonders, and by (K)various [e]miracles and by [f](L)gifts of the Holy Spirit (M)according to His own will.

Earth Subject to Man

For He did not subject to angels [g](N)the world to come, about which we are speaking. But someone has testified (O)somewhere, saying,

(P)What is man, that You think of him?
Or a son of man, that You are concerned about him?
(Q)You have made him [h]for a little while lower than angels;
You have crowned him with glory and honor[i];
(R)You have put everything in subjection under his feet.”

For in subjecting all things to him, He left nothing that is not subject to him. But now (S)we do not yet see all things subjected to him.

Jesus Briefly Humbled

But we do see Him who was (T)made [j]for a little while lower than the angels, namely, Jesus, (U)because of His suffering death (V)crowned with glory and honor, so that (W)by the grace of God He might (X)taste death (Y)for everyone.
